Minimum wage in that country must be at the minimum $12.50/hr for the Main Island and $10.00/hr for the other Islands in order to give the folks a fighting chance.
Generate jobs for your people, 3,700 are unemployed on that main island. Employ those folks. We have 3.5% unemployment in the USA. Who isn't working, does not wish to work! Crime goes down when everyone is at work and making money. Develop opportunities = employment = - lower crime.

PLP government encouragement of drugs, violation of investment banks, and investors. 4.) fixed Elections were rampant for at the minimum, 20 yrs. 5.) during the atrocious governance of Lynden Pindling (Jamaican) ... the country slip into anarchy and low-rent activities; flagged by the world as dangerous and repugnant. 6.) 1987, after 20 yrs. of bondage, the Bahamas people saw a glimmer of light.
fast forward: The USA is boasting, at the end of its fiscal 2018 ...around 3.5% unemployment! The lowest since 1969. How is it that Bahamas has 11% unemployment? Why? That racist government has predominantly alienated countless sound investors. Let the Chinese, Cubans, Venezuelans and other industrious cultures into the country to do business; diversify! Bahamas is a gem if it were: a.) obliterate its profound criminal element. Get that under control ... too many murders! b.) immigrate other nationalities from South America into that country; they are industrious and enterprising. c.) stem ... stop the Haitians from coming into that country. They are the biggest problem. STOP their strangulation of the culture.
