Trust, the Bahamas IS an attractive place for illegal immigrants compared to where they come from.

Why do you discount the DNA? They haven't even had a chance to show what they can do or who they are. I can see why someone would think the PLP or FNM are incapable, because they have PROVEN so. This automatic opposition people seem to have toward the DNA only shows that Bahamian people SAY they want something "new"--yet their minds are still too narrow to give something new a chance. So continue to bend over and take it.

Well, show this much outrage at the person who actually beat someone. Not some politician who apologized and tried to make good on it. Continuing this rhetoric about Leslie Miller is not actually helping anyone.

If you can't see that logic--you lack the common sense.

Didn't they just arrest the guy who murdered that young girl and buried her body. I hardly think as much outrage is actually showed towards the actual offenders against women! Why no protesters outside while HE was being arraigned?

Come on, man. Don't get caught up in this political hype.

242in404 says...

Absolutely agree. His joke was rather untasteful, but people are acting like he actually smacked a woman in Parliament! Why not use this energy to actually protest or demonstrate at the courthouse while ACTUAL woman beaters/killers are being tried/charged??

It must be a slow news week.

242in404 says...

Not accepting the apology or the check is just silly. However un-tasteful his comments, he did just JOKE about it...ppl acting like he actually slapped a woman in Parliament. Accept the apology & check and MOVE ON.

I'm starting to question some of you commenters intellect. Yes, people have gambling problems. Obviously, the fact that it's illegal hasn't stopped that, so what does the legalization have to do with them? They will continue to be degenerate gamblers legal or not. Almost everything in this world has people that will abuse it. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be allowed. Should we make prescription drugs illegal? These days, there are more people hooked on those than illegal drugs. You cannot let the small number of irresponsible people determine what's best for a society as a whole. There will always be some that fall through the cracks. Let the Christian Council "pick up those pieces". Is that not what they said they are here for?

That wasn't a referendum, it was an opinion poll. It was not legally binding. The PM has been doing many things that don't go along with public opinion, so he may as well add regulating the web shops to the list. Perhaps, collecting all of the unpaid taxes and taxing the webshops would make VAT unnecessary?

Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. The only thing negative you have to say against Green is public flogging? That should be the least of your worries. It's time Bahamians try something "new". How can anyone intelligently question something they've never given a chance?

Doesn't Aura charge an inflated cover charge for Bahamians to patron the nightclub? That would be kind of the same thing. The amenities of the resort are there for the paying guests. If you're not a paying guest staying at the hotel, then you pay an entry fee. The same with the water park. That is the logic.
