Why are we so scared by technology in the Bahamas but we will happily pay to go to Florida? PET scans do not come cheap plus all the attendant expenses & trauma of having to go overseas. I would have thought that we would be proud to be able to support an idea like this by a Bahamian. Dr.Lunn's situation was almost 20 year ago I think and he was just way ahead with his ideas and no support. How can we truly say we want a NH system when we don't seem to trust our own people. Bring in foreigners to run it??
Since when did equality for Bahamian women become so mixed up with same-sex marriages? I remember one woman in a store, after the first failed referendum in 2002, boasting loudly. "well we soon showed him (Ingraham)" She didn't have a clue as to the effect this all had for Bahamian women - and most still don't, including you too Birdie.....
A few years back we went to visit Dominica - a very small country - took a short bus tour - the guide was full of their educational successes - over 90% of their students leaving the school system with very high academic standards... we can't even begin to come close to that! what impressed me most was the fact that the guide thought this really was something to be proud of. Do we have any pride left in anything?
