There are many times, I am saddened and aggrieved about life in this country., How bahamians suffer in silence. My heart went out when I saw this picture. We can and must do better.
The island of New Providence long ago needed a proper functioning unified public transportation system. Tiny Bermuda up in the north Atlantic has one. A cousin of mine who visited Bermuda for a seminar experienced it. Bahamians need to travel more often and frequently. Then they will see how backward this country is. That was posted by a young lady speaking about the transportation system here on this island.
The taxi drivers have no interest in serving the Bahamian public. They have largely abandoned the local market. Travel outside of the Bahamas, taxis catered to both locals and tourists. They are one of the groupings who keep the Bahamas behind in the dark ages.
A sad situation. There has been an influx of Bahamians moving into the metro Nashville area of Tennessee. That was mentioned on social media a few months ago.
This election is going to be very interesting to say the least. You have quite a number of tertiary educated Bahamians who are cynical and frustrated about life here..Life here has gotten progressively worse for quite a number of persons.
Successive governments can't do rudimentary things, collect garbage on a consistent basis, run a postal system, operate a sensible public transportation system, patch and repair roads. A Bahamian who did his master's aboard in the US commented on how dirty New Providence is, The Bahamian people are stuck with some unattractive choices to govern them. People with sense know that.
As i expected there would be no comments on this column, The Bahamas in the opinion of the son-in-law of a former senior FNM MP, is basically a primitive oligarchy.
I am not surprised by the lack of comments on this column. Bahamians by in large seem to be become accustomed to how dirty and chaotic the island of New Providence is. There needs to attempt to teach Bahamians to have more civic pride, New Providence really needs real local government.
A comment in poor taste by the Prime Minister. Outside of the Bahamas in the real world, some of the wealthiest persons are in the performing arts. An example of that is the late Michael Jackson.

@This is Ours. A few months ago, you had all the say about inland revenue operations on Harbour Island. Now you seem to change your tune.
