There is widespread tax evasion in this country. This is an attempt to collect some of outstanding taxes. This should have been done long ago. Then this country would not have all those deficits and would not have to borrow so heavily at home and aboard.

I am disappointed in Dr.Sands.This is not a political issue. This is an attempt to collect outstanding taxes. This is a man who harbours hopes of eventually becoming prime minister. In a more developed progressive society, his comments would be met with disbelief and laughter. I like him as a person and politician but is wrong in this matter.

This is Hubert Ingraham's pet project. He intended for this cargo part to stimulate and drive development in North Abaco. It is a very good idea. China Harbour Engineering Company mismanage this project. They did not dredge the channel to allow large ships to enter the harbour and did not construct a proper turning basin for large ships. Renward Wells when he was Minister spoke about the this. So what Minister Coleby-Davis is saying is old news to people in the know.

LPIA redevelopment cost was around 409.5 million dollars. I though the Grand Bahama Airport was be like LPIA. A public private partnership deal. I thought an airport management company will raise funds for it' s redevelopment via bonds or a loan syndicate in the international markets.

On PM to draw down $400m for GB Airport

This is not a political matter. All current RBPF officers and dependents will still be afforded insurance coverage. Officers joining the police force after July 1st, 2023,the government will provide them with insurance coverage. This current situation is unsustainable going forward. Politicians in the Bahamas is simply make decisions and never review them after time to see their effect. The same thing is happening with the National Insurance Board.

Oh the irony. They are worried about being ruined. Tell that to a deceased relative of mine who never got her money from the City Market pension fund. I also know some one who use to work at Cole Thompson pharmacy..I know what happen to their pension plan.

There is a shortage of affordable housing through out this country. I remembered when I was shown the staff dormitories in Exuma. The original developers of Emerald Bay built those to house their staff. One of my relatives as well as my neighbour told me how expensive it was to rent in Great Exuma during the construction of Emerald Bay and Grand Isle Resorts.

I hope and pray this project is sensibly managed. I hope that is not a slush fund to reward PLP cronies and supporters with taxpayers' money.

This situation goes to several issues that are side-stepped by the media and political administrations here in the Bahamas.
1. The level of poverty in this country.
2. The large amount of persons who do not have any insurance on their homes or have inadequate insurance coverage on their homes.
3. The high cost of construction materials. That makes construction and renovation of homes in this country very expensive.
4. The shortage of affordable housing in this country.

This issue has plagued several political administrations. It is going to take a very comprehensive plan to deal with it,

At the same time ,can Dr.Minnis give the rationale for his administration abandonment of the Clarence A. Bain building project? The Building was imploded and monies was borrowed from the IDB to replace it. Some of the loan proceeds went to the National Training Agency. Dr.Minnis is merely the flip side of Phillip Davis. Only his rabid supporters can not see that.

The Bahamas system of government is a monarchy. King Charles is the head of state. Bahamians by in large are too politically immature to have a serious discussion on moving this country to be a republic. This is the stated observation of a foreigner.
