Hearing chatter that one of the budget cuts being made is to education...gotta keep em dumb and stupid so they don't wise up to silly politricks...Bahamas is doomed.

Bahamian's need to realize that when the food and other supplies direct from the manufacturer are going up 5-10-15%, every time that product moves from one location to the next, there is a freight charge associated with it, not only is the cost going up from the manufacturer level, freight charges are skyrocketing, in some instances to the tune of 100's of percentage points. By the time it get here, with duty and VAT charges, the price just snowballs. Don't blame the local retailer, this is a worldwide global thing. Sadly, it's also impacting price controlled items/breadbasket items. Those prices are changing on a regular basis just now, so when price control takes 6-8 weeks to reset a price on an item, the retailer, just won't sell it until the price gets adjusted, as they are losing money at the current price control mark up rate in the first place, and that is BEFORE the price goes up from the manufacturer. Be prepared for slow reactions from GOVT to lead to some of your more essential items not getting onto the shelf.

Here's to never pulling any Punch's Ivan...you have truly left your mark in Bahamian culture and history. R.I.P.

Food prices are going through the roof and there is nothing we can do about it. All you major food producers have been very open and all of the have been saying prices are going UP. Freight costs have also gone through the roof...in some instances shipping costs up over 700%. Don't go blaming the Bahamian businesses for 'being greedy' when the first cost direct from the manufacturer is spiking. This is a GLOBAL issue, not just a Bahamas issue.

All passengers and workers on commercial air flights in Canada will soon have to prove they've been vaccinated against the coronavirus. Canada's government will also require all federal workers to be vaccinated, citing a "dynamic public health situation" due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new travel vaccination policy will apply to passengers and workers in the federally regulated air, rail and cruise ship sectors. It will be enacted "as soon as possible in the fall and no later than the end of October," the Canadian Treasury Board said on Friday.

If we think Brave Davis is an acceptable alternative to lead this country we are in far worse shape than I feared...speaks volumes to our D- education.

Egomaniacal Lawyers…and Bran being promoted …now THAT’s funny!

Then throw in there price controlled items that are spiking in cost, with devious price control officials not processing the increased costing…pretty soon all your bread basket items will stop being sold. Only way to get prices changed is cold hard cash. When supplies stop, fingers go to that unit.
