Aircraft insurance is VERY specific...unlike some homeowners or car insurance policies where they will auto-renew in most cases, if you don't specifically say yes please renew to aircraft insurance, that's it...it is not renewed. Very strict guidelines when it comes to aircraft insurance...and this scenario here is probably why.
It doesn't help to add six months to the timeline and still not provide retailers and others clear cut answers on how the whole thing works...they have JUST finalized how customs is going to process the VAT charges and payments and the time of entry...they finalized that last week. That's only two weeks away from the start and they still hadn't sorted out a MAJOR component of where and how VAT charges will be captured. The extra 6 months gave the government that much more time to sit on the fat a$$e$ and do nothing and failed yet again to get everything sorted out and in place and the necessary 'education' about VAT that everyone needs from the top down, from the legislators (who all give you different answers) to the government officials and employees (who give you another answer) to your business community and even right down to you, the end consumer who is going to eat the final fee.
That came out in the preliminary report...US registered to a US based company, each pilot was current, with current medicals and type rated for the Lear...so all that checks out.
Agreed...but as stated...that is what happened...all we know is that before he departed, the fuel truck sold him another 160 gallons of fuel. No mention as to what he had on there to start with...agreed, very poor info and could be very misleading taken out of context.
Well...they are clearly eluding to the fact that it was strictly a pilot error situation, no red flags have been raised at all about any mechanical failures on the aircraft...at least not yet. Very sad situation.
I've always disagreed with a forced gratuity as a patron...just as I disagree with a 'unearned' bonuses. If I know I am going to get my 15% tip on your bill, what drive is there for me to be a stellar waiter, or other occupation earning that gratuity. Now, if it is up to the discretion of the patron, you are going to be on your A-game to try to earn that tip. Only downfall there is if the kitchen screws up a meal, the patron will not tip, but the bad meal is not specifically the waiters fault, but the waiter got penalized for it, so tips still need to be pooled somehow and dispersed at the end of the day.
The culprits are hiding you see...they are not in the government offices trying to sell the Nassau grouper...they are hiding out in the streets trying to sell their catch. you can't expect anyone to go looking for them...even when you are told point blank where they are!! Just one more prime example of why we are where we are now...there is zero enforcement of our laws.
