Actually a pretty involved process for getting them home...not quite as easy as just throwing them on a plane...they don't want to go back, you need to ensure that they are fully documented, alert the Haitian Embassy/Govt which ones are coming back, charter a plane and security detail to fly on that plane and make sure they don't try anything stupid...etc, etc.
I think you are not completely understanding my post there...if you read it carefully...I do not think any of the 3 parties are suitable to govern at this point in time...so what do we do...
This country is at a serious cross roads...I have openly stated before that I am pro FNM...no big secret. I think the PLP in power now show exactly WHY!! With that being said, as a previous FNM supporter, I do not think they are anywhere near where they need to be as a party to regain control...I also do not think that the DNA in it's current form is quite ready for prime time...so what is one to do...you can elect to NOT vote...and those that favour usual party lines will do what they always do. Point of interest that keeps getting washed over...the majority did not vote the PLP into power...the majority voted for the two opposing parties. But split that majority opposition vote into two and you get a minority split. But the PLP don't brag about it that way...I think they see the writing on the wall and are scrambling to get what they can while they can before politicians as we know them are ousted for good.
Seriously Tal? the lights go out in a classroom...during daylight hours...oh my, my personal safety is at risk...I might trip over a pencil and hurt myself. Funny...GB Power I am sure tried over and over again to secure payment, and nothing happens...they cut the power off and whamoo, the government jumps into action and cuts a check for a million dollars. GB Power or ANY power company is not to blame in this regard. Now, with respect to hospitals, you need to be a bit more careful there obviously. With that being said though, hospitals are 'MEANT' to have back up generators and the life saving equipment used in surgeries and such are 'MEANT' to be on backup batteries to buffer the time it takes for the generator to kick in, so you can have a power failure in a hospital and the ER and OR's and medical equipment in the rooms and wards will keep on working. Back to the issue of schools though...having not paid since the start of the school year September 2013, and the kids are now breaking for summer almost 10 months later...heck no, power should have been cut off MONTHS ago.
