So the whole VAT concept has gone to shyte...original plan was to come in at 15% and reduce duty by the same amount, trying to minimize the VAT impact on prices...now it is coming in at 7.5%, but they are not going to decrease and import duties. I call bull crap on that one.
So he is tabling VAT to come online January 1st...when there is the most turmoil in the retail trade, people buying heavy and hedging on Christmas sales, New Year's chaos, and we are meant to jump right in to VAT and expect it all to work...didn't our dearly paid expert consultants say no earlier than April 2015...and even then only after a Freedom of Information Act was in place? Guess all that money we paid them just fell on the deaf ears of our idiotic politicians...and I mean that with full disrespect 'ChefSmith'.
"Prime Minister Perry Christie being who he is..." That's enough to doom anything to failure right there...unless of course she is meaning that she knows he is worthless and she can push anything past him...in which case yer good!!
Let's get the RPT assessor's out west in full force to re-evaluate properties...like our dear friend Ishmael whose LAND was likely valued more than the entire property was assessed for.
Oh wait...never mind, you don't have to pay RPT tax anyways, so what's the point?
