Gawd I hope VAT does indeed go bye bye...bad bad bad news. We just need to beat this mindset in people's heads...even the dimwits in parliament that you need to pay your bills...quit trying to raise the taxes in hopes that the upstanding and honest citizens will bear the load and pay what they are supposed to while everyone else keeps getting a free ride.
Do it do it do it...you already have Leslie Miller running scared with his tail between his legs...knowing his track record with BEC bills, I can only imagine his track record with real property tax and business licenses and such. I can guarantee there are tax dodgers on both sides of the fence. This is not a PLP or and FNM thing or vendetta...I want the pople to see just how much money is owed to the treasury by our very own people in power, the MP's and Senators, and then once all that is cleared, THEN we can maybe start talking about if VAT is necessary. I am not going to subject myself to the whack of VAT when people in high places and with big pockets and big mouths don't pay their damn bills.
Mr. Lightbourne ain't got nothing on Leslie Miller...Miller owes more than that for just his BEC bills...why do you think he was so adamant in the other tabloid that he does NOT want any of the tax information released...Willing to bet, all told, between property tax and BEC bills, that man probably owes closer to a million than a measly 100K.
Yeap...we are MAJOR honest full tax paying citizens...the government gets millions out of our family and group each and every year in all the various taxes...paid in full...but we are carrying the debt load for all those ducking and dodging...so no...I'm not gonna be adding VAT into my mix so we can let the 'special ones' slide on by,
...it's the current culture...can I use that as an excuse when the tax man comes at me when I do not pay this years RPT bill? I'll just explain to him nicely that everyone is doing it, even our politicians in power...past and present...so until they are squeaky clean, I'll just hold back on mine for a little while.

I've known people who have spend their last dime, borrowed from friends to 'pay bills'...only to go straight to the numbers houses and eventually end up stealing or committing some other crime and ending up in Fox Hill.
