Yeah...it really is a round about way of saying we are firing some people. They are moving some of the tech jobs to existing facilities in Turks...people in Nassau will have no job...but...they are trying to minimize the job loss...the way the article is written is very backwards and confusing.
Good...Bahamians don't want the jobs that the banks and other foreign institutions offer up anyways...move everything offshore to some other country where the people appreciate the fact there is employment and probably do a better and more respectful job. May as well close up all the foreign banks and everyone has to deal directly with B.O.B and Central Bank themselves.
Why on earth would I buy a company for however many millions of dollars, agree to invest 100's of millions more into updating the company, when you are only going to give me a 49/51 split and you retain ownership and control...hell no. No self respecting business...or any business with their head screwed on right would sign up for that deal, especially with a poor run bloated and corrupt government enterprise that you are trying to change and make better.
My sanity is already shot Tal...and I just pray there is a viable alternative to the PLP in 2017, cause lord knows we can't handle anymore of the PLP of 2012...and I am not saying the alternative has to be solely the FNM either...but anything that is actually GOOD for the country...PLP and FNM right now are clearly horrible.
