I am Bahamian and I take GREAT offense to the 'Black' reference here. I am white, and I have the utmost respect for Mandela...why should I be discriminated against you racist @$$. It always comes down to frikkin black and white with you guys. Maybe when you meet your white god at the pearly gates your attitude may change...if he lets you in.

I'm kind of thinking the newly elected board that reversed the previous boards acceptance of the initiative are probably NOT going to next years board members...thinking the 'good vets' out there will oust them as quick as they can.

Freeport SHOULD be a massive hub of activity, and major population centre with all of it's tax benefits...but no...it is a failure, and when all the new tax rules come in, they may as well be some small settlement in the outer islands with a few hundred peple to support.

I love how the VMAB is VERY quiet about all this. I was very quick to jump on a few of the vets that spoke out to 'defend' the decision...but were in fact trying to defend the profession's integrity...but...it all got muddled up in the wash...for the past president to approve this years actions, then to get it revoked by the new board is a really sad show...and I hope as a group, they look internally as to what is best to maintain the profession in the publics eye...unless they want to form a union and government and jump into the double dip benefit crew. Veterinary medicine can be profitable...and is thankless, but you have to remain cooperative to all these initiatives. I think in retrospect, the VMAB boards spin, may have caused such a rift amongst it's own community that it may implode amongst itself. The new hire of the board should be ousted and shamed.

Interesting discussion earlier with some higher ups in the police force. Comment basically was that the current generation of 'teenagers' were a lost cause, they are not looking to 'redirect' those individuals...they are focusing on the kids in the primary school...which, I am NOT saying is a bad thing...just the comments that the teenage crew are so far gone that they are not going to focus any attention on them except to arrest and intervene. We are going down a very scary path way...that according to John...will be all better and focused because of his belief in God. I will go attend church like most on Sunday...and pray...and repent...so I can discard all those beliefs from Monday through Saturday...and do it al over again.

Religion here in the Bahamas is seriously screwed up...you have people in debt, people in serious health issues, people in all these dire straights, but instead of facing head on what will fix their problem...and in most cases, the poor budgeting and bad moral decisions, they all fall back on religion, and let us pray, and God will see us through...let me over spend, let me neglect my children and family, let me have 30 kids...when I cannot provide, and my kids turn to crime...let's praise the Lord and he shall provide. Word circulating is they are negotiating a bump in base pay to compensate for their 'lose in income' due to cutting the double dip.

How a person takes care of a pet or treats animals is a direct reflection on how they interact in society as a whole.
