Sadly...this is true. Definitely a case of shut mout catch no fly!! If the LGBT community laid low and kept quiet on this instead of pushing it to the forefront, chances are it would have been passed without much fanfare...THEN once the amendments were passed they could start making some noise and their legal arguments according to the letter of the law. The letter of the law and the 'INTENT' behind the law are too often confused. The law is the law...you can't then turn around and say the intent behind the law was different from what you yourselves wrote. But it is out there now, big and bold and our homophobic and hypocritical little country will likely vote no AGAIN to something because they want to ensure that an insignificant amount of the population MIGHT get some say. So all you women, looking to get equal rights lose again.

What Mr. Andrawos needs to do is shut down...and whatever promises were made, whatever shady back door deals done...he should sue the government and those ministers that gave him the green light to proceed without all the permits. Sue them for loss of investment and any other damages he can pile on top of them. Name the names of the people who allowed him to get as far as he did. The facilitators need to be outed and penalized both financially and with imprisonment.

So you all go out and get the conch...clean the conch...sell the conch and all that money goes into your pockets...yet it is the responsibility of the government to remove your waste product?
Good grief.

Close friend was a victim of a german shepherd...I'm thinking it's more of a mindset of the owners of the dogs maybe...the owner that would go out and invest in a German Shepherd or Doberman may have more respect or understanding for the type of dog they are buying and be more careful with the training, whereas most of the fools out there just look at the pitbull as a ball of muscle...sadly a lot are used for fighting and are just trained to be mean nasty dogs. I have lots of friends with pit bulls that have been raised in loving family homes and they are some of the nicest dogs with not a single mean bone in their body. Products of their environment.

You cram almost 4,000 people into a tight space and unfortunately these things can happen. Cruise ships stress to passengers relentlessly about using the hand sanitizer stations and hygiene, but sometimes it just happens. Lather rinse repeat...

So effectively, what he is saying is that even if the bill passes...they are still going to do what they damn well please at Immigration and be selective and discriminatory...

50 into 300,000 equates to less than 0.02% of the population. Now, obviously that number is bigger if you lump in the full LGBT community, but still, the numbers in the bigger picture are so minuscule, we shouldn't even be arguing the fact and should get on with making everyone equal.

Yeah...it's just so sad that such an important piece of legislation has the chance to get shot down again, because people are so narrow minded and so focused on what such a small percentage of individuals do, that they are gonna screw it up for the majority of people.

I hate what I am about to say because I have to say it. I am all for equal rights for anyone and everyone. I voted yes for it the last time and I will vote yes for it again, even though the PLP will get the bragging rights for it. BUT...there are enough people who are so homophobic and bible thumping hypocrites out there, that what the LGBT community are doing just now is going to be SOOOO counterproductive. If they kept the LGBT side of things as quiet as possible, I'm thinking that the yes vote would have been a certainty this time around...but if they keep pushing and pushing this in the press and via other means, we'll end up with another NO vote. Think about the percentages of the population..I'm willing to bet the LGBT community is a minuscule percentage, not even worth fretting about on the 0-100 scale. But because all this noise is being made, the majority of the population that would benefit from this are likely to lose out again because of the LGBT ripple in there that impacts maybe a handful of people. Bahamians need to grow up.

Do what the law says...fine them and/or give them jail time...it's really quite simple. But Bahamians are daft in that respect, so as always, nothing will ever be done and we will further entrench ourselves in lawlessness.
