Perhaps an even bigger concern should be that years of over fishing through the unregulated use of non-natural Condos and failure to protect the larger breeding Crawfish has finally collapsed the species?!?
What is there to “hate” … surely this would be a major economic boost for Hurricane devastated Abaco?!? Indeed, would this not restore Treasure Cay to its former glory as “the” Family Island Resort? Apart from “leave as it is” commentary from Wealthy Foreigners, why are the views of Local Bahamians not reported, as at the end of the day, it is “our” Island … and Treasure Cay “used to be” the biggest Employer for North Abaco? Capt. Thomson’s Vision entailed a “major” Development with Hotels, Marina, Golf Course, Restaurants, Bars, Shops, etc. … not a “sleepy” Private Enclave!
Freeport has become too big of a problem to fix … smart money would close down tourism all together and turn it into purely an industrial island with 10x BORCOs, Buckeyes, Equinos, OBANs and exploit its unique geographical location … but after 49 years we do not seem to be “smart”.
Restrictive Covenants are just that … Covenants … assuming properly imposed … and mutually enforceable by other Lot Owners … irrespective of Town Planning … very simple legal stuff.
