Caught in a National Park with Female Breeding Crawfish out of Season … and then evading Authorities … if ever there was an “open and shut” case, this would appear to be it … let us see how well our Police Department coordinates with the Attorney General’s Department to prosecute … and then how seriousness our Courts are about enforcing our Laws and protecting our natural resources … I recall “Bahamians” losing their Boats over undersized Crawfish “in” Season, so at the very least the same has to happen here as a bare minimum, otherwise we really are a joke of a Country and we might as well all start spearing Crawfish tomorrow, as continuing to adhere to August 1st as the start of the Season is clearly only giving others an advantage to harvest with impunity.

An unsettling trend appears to be developing … we are touting to be more Investor Friendly than ever BUT on the other also appear to be taking issue with existing and pending Investors more than ever. Given that we need “every” investment more than at any other time in our near 50 year post Independence history, it is imperative that “good” reasons be openly disclosed to the Bahamian people for “any” denied investment.

Being stranded “on land” for a mere “2” hours approx. 1,000 feet from the Island you originated from on a nice Bahamian day is hardly a crisis … anyway … pleased he got Home safely to cook dinner for his Boss!

Why was the Hotel not immediately Closed … indeed why is it still Ope, as in the absence of explanation as to cause, more could die?!?

Baha10 says...

Precisely … Agreements with the Government apparently mean little … now the Treasure is “found” … we will will take it from here … and you can go elsewhere if you don’t like … but we don’t think you will as you are “too invested” to leave, so you will accept our “new terms” … this is a very, very scary mindset for a Country dependent on Foreign Investment … although Blackbeard would would truly applaud such strategy!

Baha10 says...

Classic “bait and switch” … award a Contract … once Location revealed … yank the Contract … deflect by blaming prior Administration … far more cost effective approach to Treasure Hunting than incurring years of manpower in historical research followed by sourcing and mobilizing specialized equipment.

Blackbeard would be truly proud of his legacy!

Baha10 says...

Not good “optics” when someone gets a Licence in compliance with the Law and then once “Treasure” Site is identified after considerable research … followed by actual “Treasure” recovered after considerable additional risk and expense … we seek to change the terms of the agreed deal.

I suppose the only way this makes sense is if we are going to take all the information shared in confidence with the Government over the years and now as a Country enter the “Treasure” business as the “exclusive” Salvager … again, not good “optics”, but at least consistent with our Piratical History!

Does this reporting make sense?

“The family is aware of the cause of death as a result of the investigation, as a result of the coroner’s assessment and the other toxicology report.”

vs

Mr. Cooper told reporters he cannot confirm if the coroner report was released to the families of the victims.

Perhaps a worse realization to consider is if Oban had not become politicized we would have have the largest Bulk Oil Storage Facility in the Caribbean, which could have been filled with Oil below $15+/- a Barrel in 2020, as opposed to current $120+/- … and still increasing🤯

Baha10 says...

Reporting makes no sense … Government Complex and Hospital “already” exist (albeit without Doctors, Nurses and Medical Supplies to actually function. I also doubt this “idea” was a “gift”, but assuming it was, I would scrutinize carefully given the much touted and completely unused North Abaco Port that was built at tremendous expense to the Bahamian people while the actual “used” Port in Marsh Harbour remains in shambles since the passing of “Dorian”.
