.... and, as we have now all seen on Social Media, response time may well depend on whether or not our highly trained literate sophisticated concerned Officers are too preoccupied drinking and driving to consider responding to Crime in progress. As with every other Government Ministry, Department, Corporation, Agency or Office, 80% should be fired tomorrow if there is to be any hope of returning to a normal functioning Society.

Maybe, but we are talking about Self Protection where the State has failed. When someone breaks in your House to Burgle or Rape you or accosts you on the Street to Rob or Rape you or rear ends your Car to Rob or Rape you, would you rather be able to: A) Say Hello to my "little" Friend Punk; or B) Grovel in Misery in the hope of your Life being spared for the sake of your Children, only to have them later in Tears identify your Body in a Pool of Blood?!? Time to get real Bahamas!

Add to that the right of Private Citizens to bear arms, as when the State fails to protect Private Citizens, the Private Citizens have an inherent Human Right to protect themselves and their Families. Is it not interesting how in Abaco where most households possess a gun that there is still virtually no "gun violence", notwithstanding many of the same issues Nassau has been inflicted with due to population growth from outside.

BLT must have been proud to see her "SuperStar" Senate pick go into one of his delirious rants on the Steps of the Court! Still got to ask: "What was she thinking?" In any event, this decision, perhaps more than any other, ended her politcal career forever.

Dorsett is a relatively "small" Fish and I just hope he has not become the Sacrifical Lamb in a slowly unfolding Game of Politcal Chess by "much bigger" Fish on either side of the aisle.

If Minnis follows through, he won't have to worry about 2022, as they will all be locked up! If not, he will go down in political history as the biggest fraud to date. How's that for motivation?!?

Baha10 says...

HAI is fundamentally wrong to condone corruption by promoting the idea that Elections absolve criminality and Minnis best not head such advice, as his tenure will truly be short lived, indeed, from rapidly growing accounts, it may already be, unless prosecutions occur within 6 months of taking Office, as he has already boxed himself in a corner, whereby if he does not deliver on the threats and assurances of prosecutions, he will either have little choice but to resign out of self respect of his own free will, or this issue will be used to remove him out of no respect against his will.

First 100 Days, that is the International Bench Mark within which time a "new" Government is supposed to have put forward its most pressing iniatives, reforms and most promoted Projects. Unfortuantely, half way through and not much, if anything, mentioned to date, so let us pray for a busy 50 days, otherwise I fear we are truly doomed, as all the 100 days will have represented is a brief reprieve of optimism for the future, ended by a stark case of reality.
