Why doesn't Minnis use Trump to fight this battle for The Bahamas. Trump wants the Bahamas to flourish, so ask him to step in and deal with the EU. You can't fight this type of battle without allied support. Do way Cayman and British Virgin Islands do.
While FDI and development is generally a good thing for countries, New Providence is becoming over developed to the detriment of local Bahamians. New Providence is fast becoming Harbor Island, and it will be hard to find a home priced under 500K. It is clear that the entire Western half of the island will soon become one big gentrified gated community, off limits to average Bahamians. More than ever before, it is feeling like Bahamians are losing their country to global elites. Will this development interfere with the Clifton Heritage Park? Please let us know its exact location. I would have much preferred to see this development in Grand Bahama, where there is more land space and economic need for a project of this type.
A new sidewalk system in Cable Beach was specifically engineered with indented bus stops. The sidewalk angles in with ample room for jitneys to pull in. Guess what? The jitneys still stop in the middle of the road right in front of the bus stop and don't use the indentation. Unbelievable.
The Nassau market is completely inflated! 450K are you kidding me. Without outside markets investing, these properties would be worth 150K. Just look at the Dominican Republic realestate market for reasonably priced dwellings. The Bahamas realestate market is one big bubble! Unsustainable and rediculously priced for Air BNB investors.
That would be me. Respect for your effort. The real difficulty with your theory is ensuring that we double our population with "productive" citizens and not criminal-class leachers. You also have miscalculated how important it is to our black leaders that they never lose their black majority. They would rather a million Haitians for every white foreigner, if only to ensure they will always have a black majority and black ownership of the government and its treasury.
How can we even tell who is a real Bahamian anymore? Our public schools may have 100% Haitian students, and we don't even know! 90% of out tax dollars could be going to Haitians, and we would be none the wiser.
So many investments ruined by Canadian banks not letting legit Bahamian borrowers access capital. What a travesty! The property would now be worth twice the value. Generations of Bahamian middle-class wealth are being eroded and ruined and nobody is standing up for us. Yet, we read about American borrowers getting zero interest loans to buy properties. We are not magicians! We cannot grow the economy without capital! We are all grouped with the "deadbeat" Bahamians with bad debts. So unfair!
If you have evidence of this, please ensure that it comes out for the benefit of Bahamians. He should be forced to disclose any third party interests as a matter of process. He takes everything so personally!!! Doesn't he realize that we care about The Bahamas completely and have nothing against him as a person. We would very happily not speak to him ever again, but this is our country!
