So IOW the dream of restoring Bahamas financial services is completely dead!!!! Yawn. We've been trying to tell people this for years, but they never listen. They say foreign lawyers will save us etc. Idiots.
Let's keep on focus and not become distracted. Why is there still no Freedom of Information Act, Fiscal Responsibility Act, Campaign Finance Reform Act? Why are the Tribune and Guardian allowing Minnis to get off so easily without passing these important legislation? Don't they realise if the PLP get back in power, they will steal like never before and jeopardize our future? Every day the PRESS should be pushing for this legislation!!!!
Thanks. The plot thickens. The happy ending may go something like this: LPP gets injunction against Disney. Forces Disney to settle for 10 to 15 million. All side parties get their money and laugh into the sunset.
Re Bogart I always assumed there was a provision somewhere in Bahamian investment policy or laws that a foreign country/government cannot own large infrastructure or commence business in the Bahamas due to sovereignty issues. Do you know of anything like this?
It appears LPP is comprised of charity organisations. Why would a non profit group be so aggressive though? It doesn't add up. I guess Lighthouse Point is the favorite haunting ground of yachts and millionaires or the Harbor Island elite don't want Disney to cheapen their image.
