The government using own money to finance a huge building for the project aka pork spending money we don't have. You can be sure an FNM croany will get the contract. Unnecessary, grandiose construction = theft in my books.

BahamaPundit says...

Everybody know these funds (tens of millions of dollars) are going straight to FNM croanies. This, plus the FNM urban renewal project are pork projects taken straight out of the PLP playbook or, in other words, stealing our money!!!! Minis is starting to really piss me off!!!! No fiscal responsibility bill before the recess as promissed, no freedom of information act, no investigation of BOB, no investgation of carnival, VAT raised to 12% without public consultation, no cannabis law reform, crime as bad as ever, pushing to join the nonsensical WTO... The list is starting to get long.

Until Haiti is fixed, we are just putting out micro fires. The problem is Haiti is massivy overpopulated relative to its sustainable resources. This current "overpopulation" is somewhat working for Haitians, however; that's the real problem! Haitians, though empoverished, have multiple offspring. Their offspring then emigrate to the Bahamas and the US and send money back to Haiti. So, it is profitable for Haitians to have massive amounts of children. As long as it is profitable to overpopulate and emigrate, Haitians will continue pumping out babies. Follow the money to find the cause of the problem. Stop the money to fix the problem.

BahamaPundit says...

It doesn't look good for our immigration efforts, because, aside from being the poorest, Haiti is also the most populated. Haitians need to use birth control and stop popping out babies and sending them out to foreign lands to send money back home. The problem is only going to get worse if something is not done to rectify the Haitian sinking ship. Haitians must stop reproducing at numbers they cannot afford!!!!! See excerpt below:

The one basic obstacle to democratic rule that has caused all the others: Haiti is one of the most overpopulated countries on earth. The United States has a population density of 70 persons per square mile. World population density is 100, Cuba's is 235 and China's is 325. Haiti's population density is almost 600 people per square mile. Even if the population of the world reaches the pessimistic projection of 15 billion people, it will have a population density of 260 people per square mile, less than half that of Haiti.

What an amazing time to be alive: Haitians dictating to the Bahamian Government what to do. Is Haiti the real Government? Has Haiti infiltrated the highest offices with spies and are now calling the shots? They certainly act like it. This Haitian diplomat should immediately be kicked out of the country!!!

The FNM may make me angry, but the PLP make me horrified.

The scary part is a large segment of the Bahamian population may not care if the Bahamas is ramsacked, looted and destroyed, so long as they get a sliver of the pie; so they might vote the PLP back in. At the end of the day we are a very unpatriotic country when it comes to filling our pockets.

I've said it before, the PLP as a political party should be outlawed and struck off the list of eligible political parties. It is clear from the blantant thievery that ocurred during their watch that the Bahamas will not survive another term of them in office.

FNM should look at Real Property Tax in the US and follow their charges. Then foreigners will not be able to call foul. It's not rocket science. For example, these are the states with the highest property tax in the US:

New Jersey: 1.89 percent
New Hampshire: 1.86 percent
Texas: 1.81 percent
Nebraska: 1.76 percent
Wisconsin: 1.76 percent
Illinois: 1.73 percent
Connecticut: 1.63 percent
Michigan: 1.62 percent
Vermont: 1.59 percent
Rhode Island: 1.35 percent

Agreed. This Government acts like amateurs at everything. This is a no brainer.
