It's sad when you feel like our Government needs a 1st world government to keep them from stealing, cause they seem so untrustworthy. Our police need some first world police to make them do their job. So our government needs to be governed and our police need to be policed. It's like these guys are in kindergarten and need a teacher or nothing will get done.
John. Haven't you read my post? The FNM is the PLP 2.0. They are borrowing and starting pork projects. They will use our VAT to pay off their cronies for their election victory. Nothing has changed!!! Freedom is fine. A corrupt, non transparent government is not!!! Sure, the FNM might not steal the money outright, because they are more crafty than the PLP. But it looks like they will launder our VAT funds into non essential, pork projects to benefit their crony benefactors, which is basically the same thing at the end of the day.
$35 million loan facilitates a climate-resilient coastal infrastructure and management program that will focus on building resilience into coastal infrastructure.
So, in other words, building sea walls.
$500,000 grant will help to facilitate diagnostic studies in the digital economy, blue economy and boutique agriculture.
So, in other words, researching the internet and gardens.
Is this an emergency!!!! They told us the country is broke!!! This is what they are spending our VAT dollars on. I am speechless. I have nothing to say but that the FNM is pure evil. To raise VAT and starve our children for pork projects for cronies is the evilest act I can imagine.
I've said this before. The PLP should be disbanded and never allowed to run for office again. There must be a way to ensure that the Bahamian people cannot ellect crooks. There must be, or I have no faith in our democracy. In other countries, they lock the politician crooks up, so they cannot run again. Here, they let them roam free, so there must be a safety measure put in place. Please Minnis. Enact a law that disbands the PLP from ever running again. Petition the Queen or whomever to disband this party, if it's the last thing you do. That's the way to save this nation, not VAT but PLP!!!!
I have never ever seen a party so unprepared to rule from day one. They have no plan, so they are flipflopping all over the place. The PLP were prepared to steal and tief the people's money from day one, but they were prepared!
D’Aguilar. Do you want to go down in history as a joker? This is how you go down in history as a joker. The last thing we need is another "flexible" government. Joker Christie was flexible and the mone to gone! Don't be flexible, be smart, open and transparent! Consult with the Bahian people first, then implement the law with certainty. Look at where being flexiblible got BOB!!!
Re Akbar: You are likely mistaken. It is clear that had there been violence, it is much more likely that the Bahamas would now be another Haiti. Even more likely Akbar, had there been violence, England or the US would have brought their troops in, and you can kiss Bahamian independence goodbye. Black Bahamians didn't discover the Bahamas, nor did they invent the fundamentals of the Bahamian economy. They don't have the right to confiscate white property, just because they reproduced in greater numbers? This isn't Africa, where black people are the indigenous population.
If that's not significant, why not give us all a cheque for $6,900. The irony is that Mr. Foulkes unintentionally identified the problem with our Bahamian politicians. With their private affairs and businesses, they count twice every nickel, dime and quarter, but, as soon as they are put in charge of the people's money, $7,000 becomes an insignificant amount. People have lost their homes to the banks over 7K. If they didn't do the work Mr. Foulkes, bring them to court and get the money back!!! By not going after these thieves, the Government in power becomes complicit with their thefts. Minnis and his crew should be made to pay back the BOB debts to the Bahamian people!!! Then you would see them go after the debtors as fast as lightning.
