The real problem is we feel that the world revolves around the Bahamas and will always be there to help us. We need to start building self sufficiency from scratch.
These are the types of questions we should be asking instead of sitting around wondering who stole our cheese. A factory producing masks and hand sanitizer would be a good start at becoming industrial. Aquaculture should be examined. Bamsi should be in full gear. Food security -- livestock etc. Sand or aragonite harvesting. Sex workers and brothels. Cannabis and tobacco cultivation...
We have thousands of IBC foreign companies registered here too. That doesn't give them any right to bring their employees here to work or to carry on business in The Bahamas. Registration is not citizenship. This is an outrageous and illogical decision by the US.
Just goes to show why small island states like The Bahamas should NOT borrow huge amounts and be heavily indebted. The British understood this. Small island states and their international tourism product are prone to huge, unpredictable disruption factors.
Yes. The "you don't need a mask" hoax was perpetuated by the W.H.O. and CDC to prevent the American public from buying up all the masks, N95 respirators, because they were in short supply and needed by health care workers. The truth is without wearing masks, the public is sitting ducks, because the virus travels through the air whenever someone speaks. You will notice that all of the Asian countries required their citizens to wear masks and for good reason.
