A radio host said today the PLP were punished by losing the election on May 10; time to move on. I say hell no!!!! If PLPs did the crime, they should now do the time. If someone steels from you, do you just let them keep the money???!!!!
It is time to free Free Port!!! Remove all restrictions to US, Canadian and UK persons and companies moving there for comercial purposes. No work permits required. No duty. No BIA approvals. The Government would still make a killing from stamp tax, VAT and company incorporation fees. If this is done, Free Port real estate would pop overnight. In ten years, it could become another NYC with skyscrapers etc. Nassau residents would flock there due to its booming economy and Nassau would become less over populated. The US government would start investing in The Bahamas again. Only sector reserved strictly for Bahamians should be the commercial fishing sector. We would still have the rest of The Bahamas all to ourselves. We have no choice. We are bankrupt! Time to be innovative. Time to put The Bahamas on the map again. It is time to free Free Port or die a slow death of financial stagnation and ruin.

If I was PM, first thing I would do is stretch a dropcord from Florida to New Providence. Easy. Florida power company would probably pay the infrastructure cost too. No brainer. Done. No more power outages ever!!!
What I find hard to believe is that Brave Davis actually challenged Dr. Sands to table the election contracts as though they didn't exist. What kind of man would act like someone is lying when he knows they are telling the truth and that the truth is readily available!!!!! I've experienced the PLP's shameless disregard for Bahamian intelligence, but this Davis move takes the cake.
I agree SP. The jet ski guys are the worst the Bahamas has to offer. Scary looking and thugish. It's often intimidating just to walk near them on the beach. Yet, we place these ferocious looking fellows front and centre, right next to our tourist product.
A type of NIA is necessary to protect US tourists and expats, but the agency can be so easily abused that I have little faith in it being used for it's rightful, legitimate purpose.

I'm beginning to get a little uneasy about everything Minnis says. I'm beginning to wonder whether anything he says he will do will actualy happen.
