You guys sound silly, that is the reason this country cannot function. Bahamians take pride in systems that anywhere else in the world would be considered asinine.
Bahamasair needs restructuring and a total revamp of how they operate. They have an impeccable safety record, but can never leave on time or make sure your bags and you end up in the same place at the same time.
Smh... I will stick with my JetBlue or Southwest and enjoy the on time departure and complimentary beverage/snack whilst watching DirecTV in a seat that doesn't smell like bamboo shack or last week's deportation flight. #ijs
For the size of Bahamasair these challenges should be better handled. There is no excuse for the level of piss poor service given.
While Bahamasair has a great safety record their customer service leaves much to be desired. And in this day and age where airlines like JetBlue and Southwest are continuously raising standards, Bahamasair needs to keep up.
No one says delays and issues don't sometimes happen, but it's how they handle those issues.... piss-poor.
I stopped flying Bahamasair years ago because they suck. Point blank period...
They don't take responsibility for their actions, and will leave you stranded without so much as a cup of water to soothe your throat after quarrelling with them.
If I can't fly Jetblue or Southwest I stay home...simple. At least with Jetblue, when they inconvenience you they compensate you with no issues.
Smh... I hope people learnt a valuable lesson. Bahamasair is not to be trusted.
Anyone noticed mom had her first child at 17, before she was even able to apply for citizenship. Furthermore mom has no Bahamian parentage. She's Mexican-Hatian. Wmf...
What's the real agenda here...cause I'm smelling rat.😏
Well it would seem her grandparents - who were born in Haiti (cause someone had to be born in Haiti) - erred by illegally coming to the Bahamas, and then starting this train of illegal bullcrap by not getting Taranique's mom Haitian status, that she then could pass on.
Seems to be a long line of illegal mess that will further open the floodgates for more Haitians to claim Bahamian citizenship rights.
Dee00... I have foreign parentage as well and was born in The Bahamas. But my mother did her due diligence and ensured I was given the proper documentation that was required to receive citizenship.
I have no empathy because under the current law I wouldn't be considered Bahamian, and should I have the gall to marry a foreign man my children wouldn't be Bahamian either.
They need to get these immigration laws together. To many loopholes and mixup that allow for discrimination.
That being said, let his parents get him Haitian status and then when he his 18 let him apply for citizenship to The Bahamas- as stated in the constitution.
Exactly...her situation was made such by a parent who was looking for status in another country. Her mother was a native-born Haitian and therefore according to this article she was entitled to Haitian citizenship. That being said her daughter should have also received citizenship based on the law. But the mom didn't do her due diligence and did this child a disservice and now begging and pleading for the government to fix a situation brought about by ignorance and a sense of entitlement.
Sorry I disagree... his parents came here illegally to benefit from this country's free education. It's awesome to see that he took full advantage of what many Bahamians take for granted.
But the fact is, he's still in a country illegally. So therefore he needs to go and legally obtain the Haitian passport that he his entitled to and then legally go about getting himself off to school.
I'm tired of this issue... people coming here illegally and having children, then they don't apply for any type of papers for them. Then when something happens they cry that they are stateless. These Haitian parents are doing a disservice to their children.
The Jean-Tony case has opened the flood gate for this. First the girl with a brain cyst and now this student.
SMH.... stop coming to people's country illegally, having children, and then demanding the government to give your child status.
