NHI is being implemented to cover the rising cost of health care in the Bahamas. More than likely it will require a salary deduction for all eligible individuals. My biggest question is how does NHI intend to deal with the hundreds of illegal immigrants that access the already "free" healthcare. How will they be held accountable for their mounting medical fees ? Are we as Bahamians intended to medically support the immigrants as well?
