The FNM government just wanted to be able to say we did something Christie failed to do, but in term it fooked them in the @$$.

We're out 2.3+mil as a result of it and Peter and Hubert are still on tours. Lord help us.

BahamasForBahamians says...

Still cheaper than the money Hubert wasted on the CCRIF.
We spent 2.6 million to get 230k.

Regardless, if they paid 900k which was the premium at previous years, this investment was a loss!

The Tribune is doing a disservice to its readers by highlighting this under administration but not the next!

Neil Hartnell: This article is severely deficient.

Given this CCRIF insurance policy was an issue of national importance, especially when you factor in this government's critical assessment of the previous administration decision to cancel it, the media has a journalistic responsibility to comprehensively explain the timeline of events to its readers.

Previous Article:

Timeline of events:

1. PGC paid insurance premiums to the CCRIF to tune of millions.

2. Hurricane Joaquin hit and were not qualified for claim.

3. As a result an economic decision was made to deposit all future premium payments into a disaster recovery fund.

4. Bahamians gave PGC backlash.

5. Hubert and The FNM administration reinstate the CCRIF policy paying an excess of $1million for the premium

6. A hurricane category 5 hits The Southern Bahamas

7. CCRIF offers a payout under 250k for the disaster.

Does anyone not see an issue here?
We paid $1m+ to receive 235k??
Why is Hubert not speaking on this in the HOA?

Minister of Tours speak up!!

BahamasForBahamians says...

Hubert went on record to say that the CCRIF fund was paid up. Why arent they using this money?

http://www.thenassauguardian.com/bahama…

Bahamians need to advocate this money be used since the government has gone record to say its paid up.

As much as Canadian officials may want to help this family, the precedent it would set would be dangerous.

It makes way for all 400k of us to apply for asylum/refugee status on the same grounds.

This response from Marvin is a cop out and his resignation should follow.

His campaign videos where he stated his police background would assist in in curbing crime should be replayed to remind him the promises he made.

So be it though. Enjoy the remainder of the 4.5 years in government Marvin.

By the time D'Aguilar is finished with us the only tourists we will have are the ones from the south who aren't necessarily interested in spending money in our country.
