I love it.

The line staff refuse to let this issue be swept away unfairly.

The staff and public is fully aware of the connection between the CFO (who is ultimately responsible for the financial bleeding of the corp) and the governing party.

If the FNM is willing to let Earl Deveax's ex-campaign general erode its popularity with the working class then so be it.

I would say CG is not worth it and she should be terminated forthwith. It is public knowledge that she was intimately involved in the fraudulent activities at the corp and the executive has admitted this through the disciplinary action she received (suspension).

However, there has been no rationalization behind her suspension being rescinded and three line staff being terminated when the ultimate instruction comes from her office.

Bannister and other FNMS (Jamal and Carlyle fake account holders here) please relay this message to your cabinet that this matter will not be swept under the carpet.

Remove the CFO or face erosion of your popularity and pay for it at the ballots.

How is corruption being weeded out on one of end of the spectrum but not the next?

Kenred Dorsette and Shane Gibson are charged with 100k and 250k in corrupt activities respectively but the executive at BPL loses over 2million (up to 7million was loss and publicized before they realized it was at the doorstep of the FNM just google this situation) and there is no arrest nor charges?

What are you doing Hubert Minnis?

Ten years ago Bahamians had short term memories..

Would you want to risk this example of preferential treatment to FNM's being animated in a meme going into the next election.

Act wisely!

In layman's term's: The UBP is back in power and they will now strike a sweetheart deal to reinvest in their own assets (most likely through Bahamian government subventions) they've allowed to deteriorate at expense of the Bahamian tourism product.

Right on George Mosko and Brent/Craig Symonette! Lol...

The shakeup was futile as the person who was responsible for the bleeding funds is still in place. The CFO was quietly allowed to return to her post, after overseeing astronomical losses at the corp.

Lady Tal.. excellent show yesterday. Are you suggesting these vacation rentals should be scrapped, totally?

BahamasForBahamians says...

I think Gowon Bowe is speaking from a position of social responsibility as opposed to a position of a trained financier.

Though I am opposed to the firings in the public sector, this post makes no business sense.

However, as a Bahamian, who's seen the effects of unemployment we already know that any spontaneous increase to unemployment without alternatives can be paid for in two ways:

Either (1) trying to arrest the criminal activity such victims may resort to
(2) through government support via social assistances
(3) more crime

The third is optional. LOL

I assume he is being proactive in attemtping to maintain the status quo.

The country is running?
Where are you getting any indication of this?

The chairman of the governing party(FNM) thinks otherwise.. to an extent that he pretty much apologises for the performance or lack thereof. See article below:

http://www.thenassauguardian.com/news/7…

Just for the record as a member of parliament the core of your job is to create or vote on policy and legislation in the best interest of the people you represent.

Everything else is fanfare and pageantry. Go read the constitution on the role of an elected member of parliament in case you're unsure.

Thank you for your comment Pubilus.

I'm thinking the same thing..

Is the FNM's idea of accountability only for non-FNM's?

BahamasForBahamians says...

I have no people and take no sides. I am bahamian first.

this is actually the problem with FNM spin doctors like yourself.

YOu guys are the executive of the country and have done nothing to progress or uplift the lives of ordinary Bahamians.

However Bahamas Hotmix and Cavalier Construction is on the move..

The fact that you see no issue with this governments lack of governance that tells you, you should perhaps get rid of your red FNM sunglasses and see the The Bahamas as it really is.

For God Sake Sidney Collie has pretty much apologized to the public for the lack of implementation of policy and governing after being in government an excess of 100 days! (more than enough time to table and pass legislation!)

Yes anti corruption initiatives are needed and applauded. However just as important are executive decisions and policies that can prevent our economy from collapse and curb the proliferation of criminal activity.

This government seems to have a priority for NONE.

This government will not be allowed to ride this 'arrest the opposition horse straight into 2022' while the economy fails and crime takes over and expect right thinking Bahamians to sit quiet!

Yes anti-corruption is needed and welcomed but that is NOT enough to run this country. Get to work!!

Your tone is similar to Papa in 2011.
