Exuma Immigration Officials continue to restrict and discourage arriving homeowners. For example, my wife and I arrived at the Exuma Airport on Feb. 5,2022 with 32 day return tickets. The Immigration office was unfriendly and said we could only stay 15 days. Arriving homeowners are increasing being scolded, frowned at and told they will not be allowed to stay the length of time requested on arrivals. I have been a property owner for 25 years and often come for 30 to 40 day stays. I, like all other property owners, pay extremely high property taxes, utility bills, insurance, high annual vehicle license fees and cost of living expenses. The property owners are the people who support the Island Government, Bahamian business as well as hiring locals on a continued basis for property repairs, yard work etc.
All of our neighbors are being treated the same way and are extremely disappointed.
Believe me it is not better in the bahamas especially in Exuma.

Way, way too much red tape to go through to travel to the Bahamas.
Hopefully the restrictions and excessive cost will be eliminated soon.

Your 5 day Covid test to travel regulation is completely unrealistic. The previous 10 day period was not even practical for visitors who reside outside south Florida and must make connecting flights. We have had a house in the Bahamas for 24 years and have visited for over 30 years.
Our family is about ready to completely give up with the Bahamas .

The 7 day COVID test to arrive mandate is entirely too short. COVID test results take 3-5 days
and longer. Impossible to book airline flights with overnight requirement to meet the 7 day mandate.
A 14 day mandate should give enough time to test, receive test results, make and confirm
travel arrangements, and travel.

Seven days from COVID test to travel is NOT long enough. Test results take 3 to 5 days and longer. Cannot make advance flight reservations, related hotel overnight reservations in time.

Changing the COVID test requirement for visitors entering the Bahamas from 10 to 7 days
creates an impossible time limit. Typically test results take 72 hours to get results. Add in holidays and weekends and results will take 6 days. Many visitors are unable to get connections and flights into the Bahamas in one day and have to overnight in Florida.
The 10 day test to enter period is difficult enough and in fact ought to be extended to at least 12 days.
