What's wrong with labouring in the fields and farming? It's an honest day of work and it pays a person so they can feed themselves and their family and not look for a handout from the government, or go out and rob the people who are working hard for what they have.

Bahamians always looking down on certain jobs...if it pays to clean toilets, scrape gum off someone shoes, or farm a piece of land then dang it stop looking down your nose at it. That's part of why the crime rate is so high, people feel they are to good for certain jobs but they want to rob the people who are working.

Furthermore they farm land in other parts of the world and it benefits them tremendously. Hawaii as a lock on pineapples, Dominica has bananas and mango among other produce, Florida is still orange capital- nothing is wrong with working the land. it's honest work!!!!

Question is what happens to the forfeited funds...Should be donated to some charity such as the Ranfurly Home or Children's Emergency Hostel, or maybe a scholarship for some underprivileged well-deserving children to attend a private school of their choice. But of course there will be no further reports on this and $26,000 will just disappear with no transparency to the Bahamian public as to where it went.

Why must everything be done on the backs of the Bahamians who already work hard as it is to make ends meet. They are talking about implementing VAT, however; I've heard nothing about raising minimum wage. Let's tax people but not raise their pay so at least they can continue to afford what they did before. damn it!! This make me so angry...I need Bahamians to get their heads out their flipping buttholes and realize what's happening to them.

This country is going to hell and people are worried about the wrong things...let have a birthday party for Will Packer and his celebrity friends while the simple man figures a way to pay the mortgage, light bill, water bill, and by groceries and gas all while automatically losing 15% of every dollar.

wise the hell up people!!!! Bahamians need to get their priorities together.

I speak for myself when I say I am not okay with taxes, however what is the alternative. For the drug dealers to get richer selling the illegal substance. Why? When it can be regulated and the money allotted from the improvement of the family islands.

It's the same with a national lottery, only persons benefiting right now if Flowers (Everybody Wins), Sebas (Island Luck), and the other miscellaneous number shop owners.

Why not regulate these things and allocate the money for various family island improvements? How many outer island need upgraded emergency facilities, schools, utilities etc. The money that could be generated would go a long way towards improving the overall economy.

But as usual Bahamians are focused on the wrong things...how about starting to move with the times and actually holding these politicians responsible. They would be hard press to embezzle the good people's money if more Bahamians held up a magnifying glass to the right things.

As usual we shall wait until the last moment to make moves on something that could clearly be a good financial move for the Bahamas. By the time we get moving the market will be saturated and we would have limited our initial money making ability.

Just by the fact that they classed this as manslaughter means that the initial intent wasn't murder. However, he still was responsible for the death of someone and that should have been disclosed to the parents and other staff members of schools he worked at.

Should he be allowed to continue teaching, that should depend solely upon the circumstances surrounded the charge. A person can get in a vehicle and get involved in a accident. When they drove that vehicle was their intention to cause death- NO , that situation to would result in a manslaughter charge. Point is he was convicted and he served his time 30yrs ago...apparently there haven't been any situations to raise concerns since.

I feel he should be given the benefit of the doubt based on the whatever the circumstances are surrounding the previous charges for which he has already served time and for his conduct since.

That's why they need to invest in aerial patrol rather than more ships. But no they getting more ships...they want the Dominicans to take all our resources and by the time they catch on and sail over there they back in Dominican waters with all our seafood.

I get where you are coming from but there is a lot that factors into being fat. It's one thing to be a person of larger proportion versus a person who is obese. Not all people who are "overweight" are unhealthy or any less of a productive citizen.

A common misconception is because you are slim or small that you are healthy and that is far from the truth. There are people who by society's standard would be considered fat and disgusting but in actuality they are healthier than the slim well built person everyone so seems to favour.

Rather than worry about the size of a person focus more on the general health. Now don't get me wrong more than likely if you are seriously obese then there is nothing healthy about you. But a little bit of fat ain't a bad thing, and I don't think these girls need the added pressure of what society deems beautiful to mess them up.

SMH!!! Where is the Christian Council when you need them. And shame on Zion Baptist and Calvary Baptist ministers for endorsing this man. I understand the Christian view is to forgive and move on but seriously the man just got out of prison...furthermore even with forgiveness and Christian principles this man is still a sexual predator and should not be in any capacity allowed to lead people.

Just goes to show though...churches in the Bahamas are for money making purposes and we have way to many stupid sheep being led by wolves in sheep clothing.

Yes, it is non-German but of another European country. Europe isn't totally open however if you are there legally and you have a child that child is considered legal.

At the very least it would catch some of the undocumented ones at a lower level and maybe force the government into making some kind of provisions for these third and fourth generation undocumented aliens. It just doesn't make sense that it gets to a fourth generation of children who have never in their life seen Haiti and yet they have no documentation anywhere.

Truthfully though I blame Bahamians because they turn a blind eye to these situations and use them to their advantage.
