Critical line" we cannot arrest our way out of this" smart man. He is right too many idle young men sitting around doing nothing. They are poorly educated & poorly socialized. Even those that try the prospects for them is Bahamian minimum wage. $100 to 150 a week vs hundreds or thousands commuting crime, crime wins.
If the English paedophile law was used in the Bahamas many would go to jail. The protection of children in this country is a joke. Molestations, teenagers girls impregnated by grown ass men happens often. More examples need to be made of these people to discourage this destruction of our future.
Still need investigative journalism, Tribune do investigation and give us in-depth info. Many of these killings are revenge killings which needs to end. But we'll never get any true journalism to get the details as to why that person was targeted.
So many religious wacko's yet so much crime. People pray every day for an end to the high crime but no end in sight. So If God ain't listening to Bahamians, Charlie fantasy demon could care less about spreading his evil. The ministries response to this issue let's me know we still have primitive thinking even among the educated.
The time to address this was in the early 80's, almost 2 generations of kids have been born and socialized in this toxic environment of fatherless homes, poor education, and poverty since then and are now adults parents of the other. That leaves us neck deep in this pool of ignorance, violence and corruption. There is no magic formula that will allow us to erase the social destructive tendencies of 2 generations of people.
