Cbc news has story out of Canada. 88 year old British Columbia retired doctor Geoffrey Harding stabbed to death while vacationing at his home on Long Island. He owned this house for a few decades. Bought home 1960. Now Tribune this is how you report facts
The Commish is just playing the game but the reality is this crime problem is not his fault. The police cannot stop crime, they can only shift it from one location to another. Citizens who care about their communities, have resources and aid the police are actually the true stoppers of crime in their communities. We cannot arrest our way out of this, there is just to great a social dysfunction that feeds the crime. Poor education, unemployment, absent fathers, irresponsible baby making, government corruption, poverty & ignorance are the main sources of our problems. I could see this disaster brewing in the early eighties. Most affluent Bahamians & many Politicians concerned themselves only with themselves, their family and cronies. Over the hill was of no real concern other than election time & the future of those living in poverty was of no serious issue. Development & empowerment of a people was not push through Education. Everyone took care of them and theirs. Fast forward today, criminals everywhere, Our own DPM getting robbed. Multiple murders with guns weekly. We really missed the boat in the eighties and with that a valuable opportunity to push education & resources into these poor communities. Every year because of this neglect we are breeding more criminals. Notice I did not say religion I said Education u cannot pray away your problems. Faith without works is useless..
Anybody in their right mind would not frequent night clubs in Nassau especially ones located anywhere over the hill. That's unless u wish to die, then keep going your number will soon be up.
Stapedius thats because many on these blogs are partisan Tribalist, more concern with party politics than bettering our nation. They will figure out one day that the FNM & PLP are all the same & politician from both parties have played major roles in screwing up this country.
Rollins develops Morality on the outs. Interesting.. Its amazing how people become so concerned about the people when they are not a part of the gang anymore. The people voted no, these gambling operations should of immediately been shut down and boarded up. If he took the position he's taking today immediately after the referendum then i would take him serious. Now its just the howling of a wolf that has been kicked out of the pack.
Lets face it although i don't know the cause of death, the majority of our people have a poor diet and lifestyle routines. Eating greasy fried foods like fritters, fried Chicken, battered fried conch, french fries, McDonald's, B King, Wendy's, Pizza hut etc. Most of these things are cooked and fried in the most carcinogenic greases and oils. They drink high glycemic items like soda and other high sugary drinks raising blood sugar, causing insulin resistance or diabetes. We are constantly eating highly processed food and don't drink enough water. Then u factor in lack of exercise, poor medical care and our belief in some supernatural spell or voodoo that may have caused physical or mental health problems. Many of our people live stressful lives & suffer from high blood pressure, high bad cholesterol. To make matters worse Our people don't get yearly physicals and wait until health problems occur before seeking medical care. We have become Americanized without America's standard of health care. We have become a overweight, out of shape society, stressed out society.
I could just see a homosexual divorce hearing " U mean I have to pay another grown man $$$ a month for the next 10 years", "Judge, yes he has to be maintained to the standard of living he is accustomed to." They can have that b.s..
Since all men and women have the same basic rights in the Bahamas the only thing homosexuals are missing is certain legally recognized protections government gives to married couples. Marriage is not chocolate cake, and in many cases it ends poorly with one person becoming a financial slave for years. I think allowing gays to get married is more torturous than denying them that right. Let them experience signing over their house, car, 1/2 pension or money u been saving to settle some divorce claim. Erin Greene doesnt get that she's fighting for the right to be tortured. I say let them suffer like the rest of us. Dr. Monroes speech doesnt even touch the surfice of hateful, its more wasteful and hypocritical with all the nonsense going on in the church and around the country that needs to be address immediately. I would like to see Dr. Monroe and Erin focus energy into dealing with this crime problem and education. Until i feel generally safe walking down the streets of Nassau, I could care less about either of these individuals or their agenda's.
And we worry about b.s like gay rights or gay activities with all the violence and criminal activity going on in this country. who can afford the luxury of thought...
People waste to much time hating on gay people its not your ass getting plowed. If consenting adults want to be gay its non of my business. If they want to get married who am I to force my beliefs on consenting adults not breaking any laws with all the criminal and corrupt behaviour we have in this country. Who can judge them not a multimillionaire pulpit pimp like Monroe. U want to stop pride parade's & celebrations allow gays same marital rights as straight couples. Let them deal with all the legalities of divorce, alimony, child support & the misery that marriage can bring. Let them suffer like the rest of us. After watching kids, working, arguing with spouse they wont have nothing left for pride events. Let that divorce court judge hit them with that alimony & child support. People act like marriage is chocolate cake, give them all the rights to experience all of lifes joys and miseries.
