Ok folks I no it was a terrible comment, I was trying to stay focus but that makeup held some kind of hypnotic power that distracted me from staying focused on the article.. UserOne/lazybor I am going to have to claim temporary insanity on that last comment.. After all I would not want her to track me down I hear she can deliver one hell of a smack..
Off point but Sister Loretta please go easy on the makeup, if beautifying yourself is the goal try less makeup and diet.. Hire a professional to do makeup or demonstrate proper technique... I support her efforts and respect her mind but she can be hard on the eyes.. i apologise in advance for those offended but day in and day out photos of makeup covered Loretta plastered on the Tribune is hard.. Perhaps i'll try covering her photo with my hand so i can absorb the articles message..
Mr. malcom for prime minister , Finally someone willing to address the situation of idiotic internal government policies and business incompotence of our leaders.. Tax and spend is all they know how to do.. the government is like a vampire sucking the life out of us.. Mr. Malcom it good to know there are free thinking Free market capitalist willing to speak up..
Userone/Marcus, does Bill Gates or Warren Buffett behave like Nygard.. Free market Capitalism and a free society would not allow it.. Power can only be abused unchallenged in socialist countries like ours with government controlled everything and self discriminating policies.. Hitler was a socialist.. Capitalism has many flaws but its the best of all the worlds systems to improve the lives of anyone who willing work hard. Almost all of the world most evil men like Hitler came from deeply socialistic government controlled society.. Look at north Korea.. I am suprised u 2 are not tired of paying 3 times more for a jar of peanut butter that those in free market capitalist society.. Capitalism is about freedom not money.. As u can see Warren/Bill, have a lot more money than Nyard and they are 2 of the most generous people in the world..
This is a load of nonsense...People like Nygard are here because they can be king.. That means they can rule PLP/FNM no matter who, they are both for sale.. We need to create the same conditions here that made Peter Nygard rich, free market capitalism, then the multiple Bahamian born billionaires would shut him up...
how much did they pay this guy for his speech, they should ask for a refund.. He says the Vat is a part of broader economic reforms and then refers to regional changes that need to happen with trade and WTO membership.. He is essentially a paid Cheerleader for the Vat.. But like most socialist he does not address structural and functional policy internally that discriminate against your own people making it impossible to compete in a Global economy.. U tax profits, not ambitions or start-up.. U create a free society with equal rights for all which allows for innovation and new business opportunity.. U create labor policy that makes it difficult for businesses to stiff workers, and apply swift consequence for those that do.. U free up capital at competitive rates.. U do your best to eliminate upfront tax related cost, so individuals don't have to have lots of money to pay these fees for supplies and goods, some at extremely high prices.. U fix the justice system so the rule of law is enforced and adhered too.. These things and many more need to be accomplished Before we can begin worrying about WTO and other external policies on the world level.. Tax, Tax, Tax, Tax, Tax, spend , spend, spend, spend, government this, government that, program this, program that, is all these people know.. The expenses the Bahamas is incurring has to do with a lack of free market capitalism and our high dependency on socialistic instruments of the government. And we know how government runs things with incompetence. Competitions makes people better and forces innovation and improvement.. The government in this country and Barbados have become like a vampire feeding on the blood of its own people. They have designed a system where we will never become a ownership society.. If Barbados was a real ownership society he would not be describing successful tax measures but rather the economic growth of a successful nation with privately own businesses and the economy.
Give them a hand up..it's much needed at a time when people are suffering more.. we have not created a society where the poor has ability to empower themselve..Systematically they are discriminated against.. if this was the U.S I would say this some welfare state B.S. because they have free market capitalism, where u can be born in the worse ghetto and become a billionaire..No such system exist in the Bahamas the poor are screwed unless they acheive sucess through sports or crime..
The entire taxing system needs to be revamped because it is designed to ultimately punish Bahamians and complicate business.. It is the repetitive nature of taxes like the Vat that make it a problem and the increase in fees at every avenue of doing business without proper planning. It is the tremendous cost associated with imported goods that sometimes doubles the price Bahamians pay.. It is the ridiculous cost of services that are all inefficiently government ran because we lack a real free market that would help reduce cost through competition and create more ownership opportunity for Bahamian.. Nobody wants to talk about the Cost of Government and self discriminating policy.. We must get rid of these self discriminating policies and open up society to anyone qualified to seek capital open a business and provide private sector competition to tackle the high cost of things like energy, food, supplies, and other operational cost. Even if this guy does open a business and employs 50 Bahamians, Are any of those 50 able to one day say u know what i am going to open a business and work for myself and hire people.. We still have not solved our problem which goes far beyond taxes, its self discrimination and the lack of a free society for all... Too believe things like every adult of legal age regardless of origins cannot walk into any casino and gamble, open one or utilize any bank throughout the world for competitive finance rates in 2013 is madness.. This guy was relaxing in italy he's not going to hurt in the long term because he is a capitalist...
