But the issue here is not the health insurance for everyone, it's the people in charge who cannot be trusted. Every time i go to a local doctor here i'm shocked when the bill comes, even when i know that my european insurance will cover it fully. Healthcare should not be a luxury and available to everyone, for someone from europe it's a basic human right, something so fundamental - it's the job of the government to ensure that it's citizens are healthy and do not have to worry. I don't understand how Bahamians are accepting the current health system, it's a mess and expensive.

You'll be indeed surprised how medical costs go down once a government has to pay for it. For me it's actually cheaper to fly to Spain, stay in a hotel for a week and buy it there...
Look at Cuba, very poor economy but a leading one in the health and medical sector. National Health Insurance is a good thing and can bring medical costs actually down. I just fear that this government does not have the competence and that it indeed might make it more expensive.

I know so many expats who were working at Baha Mar - which are now off-island - who all said the same thing - that the chinese simply do not work as instructed and do their own thing. That was back in October 2014 already. But i agree that his management team was incompetent - or rather too soft. They should have kicked out CCA no matter the consequences way earlier, i believe this is why they did the C11 move. To me it looks like a setup that was planned from the beginning.

These politicians are disgusting - i've been living in many countries but only here you see politicians who found the perfect symbiosis of stupidity, greed and ignorance.

I wasthinking how we could fix this. So the idea is everyone who sees them on the street should slap them in the face every time they say or do something stupid - but then again i thought they'll in a life threatening condition after 24 hours if we would apply a system like that.

I think there are no remaining options. The plan is set so it doesn't really matter what he does. It's a matter of lacking respect, the government already shown they don't respect him or his investment, even all the prime ministers lackeys told him so in the public - remember psychological tests for investors or taking the residency away ?

These people got their own agenda and it's certainly not serving the country for the greater good.

BaronInvest says...

It will get worse. The chinese do not want to negotiate at all.
It's in their best interest if the whole thing gets shutdown, everyone fired and sold to the highest bidder. Sarkis will loose his 800m share to the highest bidder and guess who that will be ? The chinese of course. Then they own the resort by 100% - and will need employees again - chinese employees ... The game is completely clear at this point. Your government is paid already for this move so they won't have to worry ...

Bahamar will open Early 2017, just not with Sarkis or any Bahamians.

BaronInvest says...

How is it CCAs fault ? It's your government that is even embracing CCA to do nothing by siding with them.

Wow, our game-development company has a better infrastructure than the Bahamas. Our computers don't need "rebooting". If something needs rebooting it's an indicator for something being broken. "Just reboot" is the jackass answer you'll give a non-techie when you cannot be arsed to fix the issue in the first place.

But Sir, when you don't borrow the money then the guy who suggested that won't get his share from the guy who is borrowing you the money. The objective of politicians in this country is so gain as much as possible from this country - don't you know that ?

BaronInvest says...

It means that on the 2nd November the Bahamar will be handed to the chinese, Sarkis looses his investment, all high-end hotel branches will announce a "pull-out" and other foreign investors will stay away from the Bahamas for a very long time.
