As Whogothere correctly pointed out in earlier post :*The numbers are just stupid - 90% of Bahamians are unvaccinated of course they're going to make a larger portion of those ending up in hospital.*

The same correct logic also applies to Iceland, where 85% of the over 16 population have been fully vaccinated. They too are going to make up the larger portion of cases. Works both ways, and it's also why you should look at the raw data and pay attention when you are in your high school math classes.

Oh, and since the UK has fully vaccinated 70% of it's adult population, they too will see skewed data reflecting more cases in fully vaccinated people.

I've said it several times before and I'll say it again: Critical Thinking skills are so important, but sadly lacking on here.

I think you missed a 9 !!

Agreed. They should also test for flammable vapors in the immediate area and have a site manager sign off on a permit, that gives permission for a cutting torch to be used

Ok, so after reading the article again it says 0% of fully vaccinated people have died or are in hospital. Shoddy reporting by The Tribune and with an incorrect headline. They really are not helping the general population with their inaccurate articles.

It's not the same thing.

Let's say you have 10,000 confirmed Covid cases (vaccinated and unvaccinated), 5% of which have been hospitalized. That's 500 people hospitalized and 9500 not requiring hospitalization.
Now, 5% of those 500 hospitalized have been fully vaccinated, and 95% are unvaccinated. That means 25 people in hospital are fully vaccinated and 475 are unvaccinated.

Clear now?

Do 'Commas & Colons' come before or after "Dotting the i's and Crossing the t's' ? This deal isn't going to happen any time soon. If this deal doesn't close before the upcoming election and the PLP win, you know they're going to want to put their own mark on it.

What's Mr Hepburn's background and experience? I seem to remember an article not so long ago in either The Tribune, or Freeport News, where he was discussing the startup of his new business, Elnet Maritime.

Also, as John pointed out in an earlier post, the Captain of the ship must surely have known what he was carrying. Why would he risk his, or his company's reputation, license & a corresponding huge fine. Not to mention the fact that he should know all the required regulations & protocols, when docking in a foreign country. I definitely think there is a lot more of this story to unfold, although my guess is it will be swept under the table by government & customs in a couple of weeks. Hope I'm wrong.

Agreed !, But them beetles going to go hungry on Grand Bahama. From what I've seen, Dorian took out most of the pine trees on the north shore

Bobsyeruncle says...

Sorry, I'm done now. Time for me to move on to something more pertinent to The Bahamas, like this freakin beetle ridden ship that docked in FPO.

I suggest you should also take a break and move on to something else besides antivax stuff. You've been posting for a year now, and every post has been to do with Covid & vaccine conspiracy theories. Surely you have other Bahamian interests in you ?

Hey, Cherry Picker, the pleasure is all mine.

What about the summary on Page 23 then.

***• Risk of severe disease or death reduced 10-fold or greater in vaccinated
• Risk of infection reduced 3-fold in vaccinated***

The footnote on page 3 says the comparison data for deaths, hospitalization & infection between the vaccinated and unvaccinated people was as of July 24, 2021. That's pretty current isn't it?
