*That's due in large part to the treatment therapies now known and available.*

And what therapies might that be? Pls don't say Chloroquine, Ivermectin, Remdesivir etc., as you should be the last person who would want to take these given the limited Clinical Trial data and long term effect data for Covid patients

Antibody tests are not always the best indicator. It can take 1-3 weeks after COVID symptoms start for the antibodies to appear in the blood. There is also the question of how long after having COVID is there still sufficient concentration of antibodies to produce a meaningful test response.

Then of course there is the accuracy of the test.

Skip this next bit if Math is not your cup of tea.

I think the best test has 95% sensitivity & specificity. If you use this test on a sample of 1,000 people of which 50 actually have antibodies to the virus, the test will correctly identify 95 percent of the true positives, i.e. 47 individuals (50 x 0.95). When it comes to true negatives, the test will correctly identify 95 percent, or 902 out of 950 individuals (950 x 0.95). The other 48 will get a (false) positive result, even though they do not have antibodies. The total number of positive results will be 95 (47 + 48) out of 1,000. However, since only 47 of those positive results will actually be correct, the probability that you actually have COVID antibodies is only about 50 percent which means you may as well just toss a coin.

Maybe in The Bahamas, but I think you were referring to somewhere outside of The Bahamas, since you said Doctors (in the plural), and distribution center. I stand by what I said 100%. You are not allowed to break the chain of custody. Any distribution center that does that will be in deep excrement. Care to divulge your source of information ?

***Doctors have requested to get a random vial from a distribution center in order to study its contents, but have been denied. That just sounds suspicious.***

Not suspicious at all. Doing such a thing breaks the chain of custody for the vaccine, and deviates from required validation protocols. This is normal for all drugs/vaccines/medicines as they have to have a record of transfer all the way along the supply chain to the end user. This prevents counterfeiting & doctoring etc. as well as making sure the vaccine has been stored correctly. Any real Doctor should know that.

Also, Doctors probably have access to left over vaccines at their clinics or hospitals, so I would check your source of information. Hopefully it wasn't from a social media post or MSM like Fox, CNN or CNBC. If it was, you have somewhat proven the point of the letter writer.

True, but there are other companies besides US ones that could still benefit from being offshore, whether it's in The Bahamas, Ireland or wherever

Bobsyeruncle says...

Absolutely spot on. Unfortunately, with a population having, on average, a D- education (including a few on here), you can't expect the average Bahamian to have the necessary critical thinking skills required to differentiate fact from fiction when it comes to what they read, hear or see on social media or main stream media.
If the churches really get on board with the vaccination program at the local level, and really start emphasizing the need to get vaccinated then maybe, just maybe, we will see a change in their reluctance. People are much more likely to listen to their local pastor than they are to a politician.

I think you might be confused. Jab is for injection, and not vaccination. Vaccinations aren't always by injection, (aka jab), some are taken orally. Jab has been universally used for decades (by both medical professionals and general populace). Not sure why it bothers you so much ?

Bobsyeruncle says...

Not sure about that. Where would they go where they could escape the 20% corporate tax? Mt understanding is that it would apply to all countries, not just The Bahamas.

Bobsyeruncle says...

Trust in God. LOL. That didn't help those that died did it?

Bobsyeruncle says...

Exactly! Totally irrelevant, yet again! For most, (not all), being obese is a choice made by that particular persons lifestyle, and is not contagious to others who don't wish to be that way.
