That's right! Put the final nail in the coffin of Foreign Direct Investment in the Bahamas. Have you any idea what the rest of the World thinks of this? No one in his/her right mind would put assets here or loan money here. This makes Bahamar look like a lost wallet dispute.

The Bahamas can't compete in the global hemp industry. Too many large scale industrial players like China and the US. Selling $20 joints to tourists who can't bring their own; now that is a money maker.

Art least there is nothing about Russians buying elections and a president obstructing justice and pardoning criminal associates. The sheer balls of this report is incredible!

Silly quotes don't make something true. The reality is that this will be one of the largest trading markets in the World. Many nations are already doing just this by planting trees, maintaining rainforests, and reducing emissions. Consumers and companies are buying credits to meet their sustainability goals. I commend the PM for having a vision outside of serving drinks to tourists and selling out the Bahamian heritage to foreign interests. Let's move quickly!

The Chinese thought they could just burn coal and now they find out they have to pay BPL pensions.
The solution is clear; import the cheap oil Putin is selling to China and resell it to BPL.

The Crypto pump and dump stage will be over soon and the blockchain secure contract phase will begin. Crypto is but one use of this technology, and unfortunately, it is the one most attractive to hustlers. The Bahamas loves hustlers.
Stay tuned as the industry evolves and the real transformative power of blockchain emerges. It will change the banking sector for ever.
It is estimated that 15% of the Covid stimulus money paid out in the US, went in to this sector. Basically free money so why not gamble it. No serious investors lost money in this crash; just fortune seekers.

Cuba, Dominican Republic, and to a lesser extent Jamaica, are all much cheaper than The Bahamas. This is the basis for their growth in tourist visits. You can go to Cuba for $1500, for a week all-inclusive; with airfare! Try that here. These destinations also have semi distinct cultures that the tourists want to visit; Reggae, Old Havana, Spanish colony. The Bahamas is a Miami culture, not to say Detroit on the beach; so not so attractive for tourists.
Also, the tourists are afraid of locals so they really want to see but not feel the environment. Go to Negril or Mo Bay after dark and everyone is hiding in the resorts. Even Mexico is considered too dangerous to go outside of the resort at night.
Mr Rahming is living in a time warp where the Reef is an attractive destination for tourists.
And if he thinks the government can do this better than they do anything else, then I must have missed the weed legalization of which he is clearly partaking.

People will make up things in the absence of facts. The Gov needs to be active in communication to protect the Brand equity of the Bahamas.
