Birdie, I will always respectfully allow you to have your opinion in support of whatever this government does while painfully disagreeing with you. No one disagrees with you on the importance of a good education for the Rum Cay Nine, but a staggering half million dollars only for repairing a small dilapidated building is an excessive amount. A much larger, modern, steel structure could be erected for much less.
A half million dollars! If this wasn't so ridiculously pathetic, it could be quite humorous. And Birdie will defend these guys no matter what they do. I guess that is how they keep being re-elected.
Birdie has no shame when it comes to blindly supporting her PLP! No one is disputing that every Bahamian child deserves a good education in order to have a fighting chance in the future, however the conversation here is about the cost to educate each child. A half-million dollars is a little excessive to restore a building for 9 students. One contractor above stated that he could build an adequate school building for half of the government's projected expenditure. But Birdie, typical PLP response, let's attack the messenger, and change the subject.
Maybe someone can help me to understand this. The Government is about to spend a half million dollars to renovate a school that only houses 9 students? This doesn't seem fiscally prudent to me. But then, nothing this government does ever makes much sense to me. Probably just another scheme to rip off the treasury and build their coffers for the upcoming elections.
A Gynecologist as Minister of National Security! Typical Christie, and so typical PLP! Just give a man a position of significant influence to pacify him and ensure that his leadership aspirations are stymied. What a bunch of clowns! No wonder the country is in the condition it is in.
Fred Mitchell is a slimy, sorry, thin-skinned, and pathetic excuse for a Minister of Foreign Affairs. I am really embarrassed to have him represent my country on the world stage. The Bahamas can, and should, do better than this. We deserve better!
I am sure that the Commissioner is only following orders from higher-up. I hope the police officers see this government for who they really are and make their voices heard on Election Day.
This Attorney General needs to resign, but we know this will never happen. The Prime Minister also does not have the necessary fortitude to fire her. They are all a bunch of crooks. What a shame!
