Mr. Davis should be talking about the roads in his constituency of Cat Island. Their condition are a disgrace, and the Deputy Prime Minister should be ashamed to talk about roads being forsaken anywhere in the country. But, I guess, he will promise us many things before the next election and we will re-elect him again. Such hypocrisy!
Same Old P L P up to their same old dirty ways. Nothing has changed with these guys. They only know how to govern the way they have always done - divide and conquer. They always take care of their own, and no one else. The various appointments of consultants and board chairs are nothing more than paybacks. It took a massive amount of money for the PLP to mount a successful political campaign. Those gold t-shirts, posters, buttons, etc. cost a lot of dollars (not including the dollars that were folded inside of them). Now they have to pay the piper. These donors have to be rewarded. Nothing more, nothing less.
The Bahamas is NOT a Christian Nation. In fact, the majority of Bahamians are not Christians. Registering one's name on a church's rolls, and attending regularly, with bible under arm, does not make an individual a Christian. Even invoking quotations from the great writers of the bible does not make a person a Christian. We do have many serious and well-intentioned Christians, but not enough to make us a Christian Nation. Just like we have many people in the Bahamas who like to drink alcoholic beverages. Many of them are alcoholics, but we are not an alcoholic nation.
True, sincere Christians, like the author of this letter most likely is, need to pay more attention to the commands of Jesus, and less attention to the affairs of this world. If we go out, preach the gospel, and people come to accept Jesus and His teachings, we would not have to worry about gambling houses. If Christians really did the job that Christ commanded we would not have to worry about many of society's ills. Good Christians would not want to gamble, steal, murder, etc.
While I have no love for disbarred, and dis-graced, former attorney Ortland Bodie, Something is wrong with our system when the offended Judge can act in the roles of prosecutor, judge, and jury. Fairness to Mr. Bodie should have dictated that another Judge hear this matter and determine Mr. Bodie's guilt or innocence. If our Constitution allows this, then it needs to be changed. How can an offended Judge expect to be impartial in metting out justice to the very person that offended him? Even though it seems that Mr. Bodie was guilty as charged.
Tal Russell is just one ignorant, and digusting PLP who, even in victory, refuses to discuss the related article with a semblance of common sense. Tal, you seem to have had a personal vendetta against former Prime Minister Ingraham. The stories, and lies, that you conjure up on a daily basis can only come from a sick and depraved mind. You honestly need help. While most of us ignore your daily ranting, it just needs to be pointed out to you every once in a while that sometimes it is better to not write and be thought of as a dummy, than to write and remove all doubt.
Why do you all dignify Tal Russell's silly, child-like rants, by commenting on them. Obviously this ignorant and mis-guided P L P would go away if simply ignored. In a few hours, Bahamians, of all stripes and colours, will march to the polls and make their voices known. Either they will voice approval of the advancements our country has seen over the last five years, or fall victim to the empty rhetoric of the opposition party who did nothing during their term in offices, but now promise to take us all to the moon and beyond. May God bless the Commonwealth of The Bahamas!
