Ok. There’s less than 350 million people in USA. A ton is 2000 lbs. 80 million tons x 2000 lbs = 160, 000,000,000 lbs which also equals about 450 lbs for every man woman and child in USA per year. Over 1 lbs per person per day. If that were true they would all long be dead. Noteworthy, 160 000 000 000 lbs of coke, is enough for every man woman and child to have 20 lbs per year. Or 20 lbs x 454 grams / lbs = 9080 grams or about 25 grams per person ( every man woman and child) on this earth per day. Do you still need more proof? Think before you type. Just because you think something, or even read it, neither necessarily makes it true.
It will be sweet irony if climate change really does cause extensive seal level rise, as our nation has very little land much over 10’ above high tide. If climate change is as they claim, and sea levels rise as they project, or descendants might be forced to seek high ground in Haiti in 100 years or so, as our islands are taken back by the sea!
Vacation pay is law. If an employee is due “x” weeks of vacation time and pay; sure they can take the time and the pay. But if the choose to work through that time, they are doing just that, working when they could be off on vacation. Why shouldn’t they get paid for that.
You suggestion that the next in line simply picks up the slack is probable, when the person does in fact leave for vacation. However clearly, the job will not be done properly lest you suggest the subordinate can do his own job and the job of the vacationing superior fully. If so, seems you have other problems.
None the less vacation is paid time off, if you don’t take it, you need to be paid for what your doing. And the company benefits from the work you do. Simple concept.
Let’s be honest. Half the junk the vendors sell is from China, and all the junk they sell is overpriced.
I’ve seen it over and over where tourists are pressured by these lowlife classless vendors they buy there wares. I suggest that if they want to survive they should off value for the dollar and treat people properly. The attitude in there is no different than a street vender’s attitude in Mexico; people don’t like it when you try to get forty dollars from them for something that’s worth 6$, and the process is insulting!
Cultural understanding is very clear. That was the Christian culture for centuries. Thankfully Christian views are consistently being proven wrong and while the evolution of their dogma is slow, it continues. Morals are clearly better establish via thought , discussion using reason and evidence. The world will be a better place once the dogmas are eradicated. However that doesn’t mean that all new “ideas” will be good. But surely better than what we have put up with from the “good books”.

Guess we should be nice to Haitians, since their country has a lot of much higher ground. Something we don’t have.
Oh the irony, in a 100 years Bahamians, our descendants will be fleeing by raft to Haiti as our country is swallowed by the sea

That old plane if maintained is more reliable and trustworthy than any modern aircraft.
Obviously is was lacking maintenance.
The plane can take off with one engine.
Something other than the plane is at fault. If maintained and running properly flying on one engine is no problem.
