Wake up my fellow, but sadly Bahamian Idiots !!! When you can perform your work at a reasonable price, properly and with a reasonable profit margin, then and only then will others be interested in your services.
I've been involved with foreign investors in the Bahamas for over 20 years, there biggest complaint, simply the gouging by contractors, not meeting schedule, and poor quality workmanship. And they all recognize that a few Bahamian contractors are more than able and more than qualified, but sadly these ones gouge them to death.
Ask yourselves why else would foreign companies be so keen to bring more people, a hint, it's not because they enjoy having to house and babysit their home country staff, no, its because we are a pirate nation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it never ceases to amaze me how many come on here and comment that nobody in BEC / BPL knows what they are doing, that nobody understands proper maintenance , and that nobody has a decent work ethic.....
yet when the subject of foreigners comes up, we all shout "we Bahamians should be doing that".
Let me make my thoughts clear, and remove all your doubts: I'm consistent in my view, that for the most part, we are an entitled society, with a majority of the population being a completely lazy, most are uneducated, have poor work ethic, low skill development, most suffer from Dunning Kruger Effect, and lets not forget dishonest and nasty people. And worst of all possibly, is that most have not and will not do anything to improve things.
So if we want improvement, we need to fire our own people, and bring in people for every area we wish to improve.
Proof is in the pudding, want power, try and find another country with so many problems. Solution, pick a country with a good system, hire them to come and take over. Want education, pick a country, get their people to come manage the whole thing.
Etc
But if you want lazy good for nothing pirates, keep the Bahamian team in place.
Our people are the lowest of the low, lest we compete with total failure states.
Notice all the news coverage of road accidents this year already, guess we now know the reason. The news articles were used as a lead up to another tax / opportunity to make / save money for insurance companies.
In other jurisdiction, the insurance companies just offer and add on to insurance : "under insured motorist protection". I type it into google, in BC Canada it costs $12.00 per year to buy this additional coverage to protect yourself from underinsured motorists. Seems a much more logical approach than a whole new bureaucracy.....
Again you spew garbage. Do have any idea how many USA presidents have been called before the international criminal courts? How about all of them in the last 65 years. Talk about criminals. Don't worry, soon the usa will be done, they've been on the decline for so long now, they've passed the point of no return. Good riddance to them!
reality check; either you are being sarcastic, or you are fool enough to believe the western propaganda. U have just regurgitated the typical western news rhetoric to a "t". Sadly the real truth is quite the opposite, and you'd do well to either learn it, or at least ensure your comments include a little more obvious sarcasm, lest you have others believing what you write.
Why all the Bull Crap? Lets just admit what this is; its another one of our nasty a(ss) bahamian moves to further impoverish the Haitian people in hopes that some will leave, and hope that fewer will come.
Why lie, why try and hide it. Man up and say what you want and that you're going to do it.
We're a predominantly black country; and nobody nowhere will be surprised by any nastiness done by our kind. Look at our homeland, nasty brutal deeds done every day.
Good thing bout us Black folks is that as long as we have "someone kind who's lower on the pole, someone to hate, despise etc etc, " then we be all for it. Suppose it makes us feel like we be better than someone other kind .........
John you are sadly mistaken about 1000 cruise ships currently under construction. The top 9 largest cruise lines have a total of 40 on order. Carnival is the largest cruise line in the world with 25 ships. If you think there are another 40 cruise lines coming online with 25 ships each, you'd be sadly mistaken. Please tell me why it is that we always talk about this problem and that problem as though the dock, or the beach, or the stores, or the proximity to amenities are our biggest problems. I think we all know that we need to fix the attitudes of our people before we can improve any tourist attractions. To fix the attitudes, were likely going to need 20 years of education improvement, (and that time starts when we actually improve education, noting no progress being made currently). If we can't even admit to these being our bigger problems, we will never amount to anything. I've been to nearly every Caribbean destination over the last 20 some years, and never ever have I witnessed the attitude that we Bahamians give out
Bahamian's vote in support oof these number houses each and every time they place a bet. Referendum results irrelevant, people want this, or they would be out of business, not thriving.
