I feel bad for this woman, what she has suffered is unimaginable.

That said, she did not lose her case on a ā€œlegal technicality,ā€ as Neil Hartnell claims. Statutes of limitation are clear and prominent features of the law. Mr. Hartnell should know better. The writing and editing of this newspaper gets worse every day.

Weā€™ve heard that one before. Govtā€™s have been promising a hospital on Eleuthera for 20 years. Itā€™s still a vacant lot. And that causeway to replace the dangerous Glass Window Bridge? Been promisinā€™ that one for +15 years.

Promises, promises ... consultants get paid, big ceremonies get held to announce that itā€™s coming ā€œany day now.ā€ Then ... nuttinā€™.

Regardless of where you fall on this question, I always find it rather droll for wealthy old white men to wax on and on in the popular press about the minimum wage and the life of the working poor. I wonder how long Mr. Goudie would last if we put him on a budget of $250 a week. (My bet? Two days, max.)
