In the US you don't have to slip money under the table to get your phone or cable or electric lines fixed. And you can't get residency in exchange for a Rolex and a blowjob, which happened quite famously in the Bahamas. And US politicians actually have to pay their electric bill. Imagine that! The US certainly has many faults, but a culture of petty bribery is not one of them.
