I understand the need to obtain permission to enter a country; I do not understand the need to obtain permission to leave. This is yet another âsoak the touristâ routine â and a corrupt one at that. The amount of the fee âdepends on the officerâ? Really?
I agree. The guys I worked with on Eleuthera were incredibly skilled. Some of the younger workers, yeah, theyâd lime out on ya if given a chance ... but the contractors and older skilled workers were incredible â better than most of the guys I worked with in the States.
Typical Neil Hartnell article: The issue of âspecial skillsâ is raised repeatedly, but NOBODY in this article specifies what those âspecial skillsâ are, and Mr. Hartnell never asked.
Good Jeezus, that would seem to be at the very core of the issue! What are these âspecial skillsâ? Are they truly skills that Bahamian workers lack? Or just that Mexicans will work longer and harder and cheaper, all day long?
Whoaaa ... by Thursday the test time-frame was 7 days, not 10 days ... that took effect July 1 ... good grief, even our so-called âleadersâ donât know their own rules. Either hopelessly inept or hopeless liars. And you tellinâ me that no unemployed Bahamanians around whoâd be willing to do these jobs?
Oh, and Mexico is North America, not South America. Itâs north of Central America, so ...
What lazy-ass reporting. Interview one bus driver, copy down what he says, and thatâs a news story? Or a dayâs work? This one guy speaks for everybody?
Neil Hartnell is so far up the arse of the Wilson family that he may never again see the light of day. Every time Franklyn or Franon buys him lunch, Mr. Hartnell unloads a story here thatâs longer than Leviticus and serves as nothing but bare-arsed cheerleading for these shysters.
Does Mr. Hartnell have any idea how much land Franklyn Wilson seized, or tried to seize, on Eleuthera by âquieting titlesâ? Apparently not.
Mr. Hartnell never asks a probing question, he just writes down whatever the Wilsons say and unloads it in these news columns. My gawd, itâs shameful for a âprofessional journalistâ to behave this way.
