Come on people! Oil is backwards thinking and ultimately counter productive for the whole world which includes the Bahamas. You should be pursuing solar!
90 miles west of Andros? Depending on where you measure from that can place it closer to the Florida keys that the Bahamas and in the gulf stream. Doesn't Florida and all points downstream of the gulf stream have something to say about this? I'll bet many of those non-Bahamian signatures are from Florida.
When will the world realize that oil is old technology, it's filthy, and is a major contributor to climate change? When will leaders start looking forward instead of backward? When will the Bahamas use one of their best resources and pursue solar? Talk to Florida Power and Light. They've seen the light and are installing massive solar farms and promoting home solar installations. This is a chance to turn the dirty oil ships away and look to a future that is free of oil and it's emissions and move forward to a clean renewable resource that provides jobs for many local workers as well as reliable energy. This backward thinking will kill us all! Just because Trump and his oil cronies are backwards idiots doesn't mean the rest of the world has to follow his retarded lead. Step into the future!
Fiji may be a better comparison here but they also have done very well with the virus. Fiji is also an island nation heavily dependent on tourism. Their population is about 885,000 and they have had only 32 cases and 2 deaths. I would urge the Bahamian government to contact the Fijian virus team and learn as much as possible from them and implement those policies that work. This is a global pandemic. Why not learn from those who are beating it?
