Once again you find yourself attempting to rationalize another PLP debacle by diverting the attention away from the PLP itself, and deferring it to someone else. But there's no escaping this one. The PLP has egg on their face as they usher in the "beginning of the end" as they know it. It was only a matter of time before the fiasco which is the PLP would experience a rapid fall. They have lost cohesion and their demise is eminent. The people have had enough, and apparently so have some of their members.
This just breaks your heart. Being the parent of a toddler myself I understand how easily accidents can happen (even when you think you have an eye on them). Condolences to the family.
Listen Guy..... the point that sheeprunner is making is that homosexuality is a perversion of a sacred act that was intended to be shared between man and woman!!! God has his laws, and the State has their laws!! The State decided to incorporate biblical principles as a part of civil law (ie thou shall not kill, thou shall not steal, thou shall bare false witness, etc)!! As a matter of fact... the very foundation of Bahamian civic law was built upon biblical principles. Why do you think they still use the bible in the courts to swear an oath??? The church has certain ritualistic practices such as baptism, baby- dedications, holy communion, (in some cases) circumcision, and marriage, that are considered holy!!! How then can you take a sacred practice ordained by God and use it for lustful gratification???
Bottom line.... why is homosexuality wrong??? why is murder wrong??? why is stealing wrong??? why is lying wrong??? Because the good Lord, the one who binds everything in existence, says that it's wrong!!! If you wish the State to support a homosexual agenda, then you needs to write a petition to the State suggesting that we take the name "God" and all the practices related to such, out of our constitution!!!
Truth be told... homosexuality is the biggest act of self indulgence and dubachery under the sun!! It's just another tool by the enemy used to defile one of the most holy of acts that God has deemed pure!!! If you and others like you can't place your flesh under subjection to resist the carnal nature of the flesh and wish to continue supporting homosexuality.... go right ahead!! But there will always be those of us here to remind you that it is wrong!
Nonsense! Haitians can't manage their own country, yet you're suggesting that we give them ours??? One of the biggest problems with Haiti is that they've over populated their land... and are now attempting to do the same to ours!! They don't believe in family planning!!! They just lay down, open their legs, have children that they can't support, and then pass the burden of the these future murderers and criminals off to the State and Social Services Department (not to mention the hospitals)!!! The Bahamas population is only a quarter the size of Haiti, and you're proposing that we render and accommodate them??? They consume every natural resource leaving behind a reservoir of diseases and blood-borne illnesses!! Haitians aren't a sanitary people!! They are not civilized!!! Their national religion is voodoo which has been embedded into their culture thru their African fore fathers who themselves engaged in black-arts, witchcraft, blood sacrifices, and all other manners of pagan black-magic!! Half of our existing problems are the direct result of the Haitian occupation in the Bahamas!! Do you know how much FREE drugs I give to Haitians everyday??? And YOU'RE paying for it!!! That's why so many Bahamians can't afford to pay their light bills now!!!!
Im upset with the PLP and FNM too.... but let's not get carried away by our emotions. We need laws that will repel Haitian migration to the Bahamas; not encourage it.
Well??? As far as solutions go.... we first of all need to establish a credible government. Secondly, we need to supplement our GDP by enhancing our fishing industry. There is more sea in the Bahamas than sun and sand, so we must contrive certain methods that will generate large scale product. We need to find a way to make our natural resources work for us. Large scale fishing continues to be a million dollar business and statistics have proven that this is a plausible solution given our geographical location and structure (an archipelago).
Rather than spending millions of dollars on pointless referendums, we should consider constructing several fish- farming facilities on the major family islands such as Exuma, Abaco, etc. If managed properly, the Bahamas should be able to not only replace a depleting fish population, but also emerge as a major global manufacturer and distributor of seafood. We should be saturating ALL of North America with authentic seafood, not drugs! Think of how many young Bahamians will have jobs as marine biologists or some other related field. Think of how many jobs this would create! Furthermore, our new government should allow the United State to occupy a marine and naval base in Great Inagua Island for a period of 10-20 years. This will reduce poaching, illegal immigration, and drug trafficking and won't cost the Bahamas much of a financial burden. The Yanks would be more than happy to erect a military base which will allow them to curtail some of their illegal drug problems aswell. In the mean time, the base can also be used as a training facility for our police and defense force (lord knows they need it).
Thirdly, our entire educational system needs to be reconstructed to suit the 21st century! I can go on for days as it relates to this point... but why bother. No one's reading anyways. Just some food for thought, sheeprunner. Just some food for thought.
That's just the problem John! There is no relief! Bahamians have been reduced and confined to a life of misery and hopelessness while our sworn leaders, in a gross betrayal of the public trust, remain an ineffective, inefficient, unaccountable, dishonest lot. These are not "unsubstantiated claims!" Look around you John! You don't have to be a genius in order to discern the fruits of corrupt practices! BEC is in the state that it's in due to mismanagement, dishonesty, and fraudulent practices.... and it doesn't appear to be an end in sight.
While there may not exist any quick solutions for these blackout, my long term suggestion is that we Bahamians place our money where our mouth is! In a united effort to rid this country of the PLP and FNM (for how long? it depends), let us use our financial resources to support a consortium of honorable men and women that are experienced and qualified enough (no matter what that may be) to govern our country! Based upon independent studies and civic observations, we have established that this is indeed possible! And that's reality! If we are really serious about saving what's left of the Bahamas, then we must sacrifice what we have in order to establish another government for the future of the Bahamas! Do away with the practices of the old guard and establish something effective, efficient, and new! That's my suggestion.
