I don't know why everyone seems surprised. The PLP government is the epitome of chaos. Everything related to them is shrouded in failure, incompetence, and disaster. They are a piss poor government. Everything that they touch turns to shit.

The FNM government put on a flawless general election back in 2012. Everything ran smoothly even as they were being voted out of office. International observers even went out of their way to praise our general elections process. Now in comes the scandalous, skulduggerous, unscrupulous, scandal ridden PLP. How these stupid, assified, jackass, monkiefied Bahamian people keep voting for this government is beyond me. In a democratic country the PLP can't even organize and carry out a simple general election process! Yet they're telling us that they are fit to government our country. Anyone who votes for the PLP is a real live jackass.

Being in dept is not stealing you jackass. Many Americans owe the IRS. The article did not state that he is evading taxes..... it simply states that the man owes money.

The more important issue is whether or not he has been disbarred. If he has, then that doesn't make him a very honorable candidate and he should step down. But owing money to the government doesn't make him a villain. All of you probably owe money to some local agency in some way shape or form. So shut the hell up.

Listen idiots....... tax dept is different from tax evasion. Lots of people in the United States owe taxes. So what you're supposed to do is consolidate your dept and initiate a payment plan with the IRS.

Lots of people owe the government money. Lots of people are in dept. The United States and the Bahamas as well are millions and trillions of dollars in dept to China. Being in dept doesn't make you a bad person. And how do any of you know that he's truly unaccountable? How do you know the exact details of his finances? If he was guilty of evading taxes, the FBI would have issued a warrant for his arrest by now. Is he a prudent businessman? Maybe not. But that doesn't make him a crook.

I'm not so sure. You need to remember that the masses of Bahamians are stupid, stupid, stupid people. They can be bought with a bag of uncle Ben's or Mahatma rice.

Cobalt says...

Indeed!

So what if he owes taxes in the U.S.???
I owe taxes in the U.S. too!

Cobalt says...

I understand where you're coming from. This festival was NOT the fault of the Bahamas. It was organized by a U.S. promotion company who failed to make the proper arrangements and amenities needed to make the festival a success.

However, this ordeal sheds light on a condition that many of us as Bahamians are either too proud or too ashamed to admit. The fact can no longer be denied...... The Bahamas is a dump. Our out islands are a dump. Most if not all of the family islands are desolate and dismal with absolutely no entertainment venues to engage visitors. Hundreds of tourists leave our country every year disappointed, dissatisfied, and disgusted with their experience here in the Bahamas. The Bahamas is dirty, it's underdeveloped, it's overpriced, and thousands of guest often leave shocked with their unfulfilled vacation experience.

I work in the United States and have met many people that vacation in the Caribbean. And let me tell you..... of all of the people that I've met, none of them were thrilled about their experience in the Bahamas. Their complaints are often identical to everything that I've mentioned above. The sad truth is that our country is no longer the attractive tourist destination that we think it is. The only thing that is keeping our tourism industry alive is Atlantis and our close proximity to the United States. Our government has failed to enhance our tourism market. Our country looks dirty and dingy to guest who arrive from developed countries. I took a Caribbean cruise a few years ago... and one of the stops was in Nassau. When I got off of the ship.... I couldn't tell you how embarrassed I was to be a Bahamian. Downtown Nassau needs a massive overhaul. Derelict, abandoned buildings need to be demolished and replaced with attractive infrastructure that bares an attractive Bahamian theme. Something that will attract and entertain our guests. Ironically, the last time that downtown Nassau was renovated was over twenty years ago when Hubert Ingraham and the FNM first took the initiative. Our country needs a government who is serious about improving our tourism market.

Tell the entire story and stop talking shit! Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham made Brent Symonette relinquish that contract or he was about to make him step down. So Brent gave up the contract!

That's the difference between the FNM and the PLP. When members of the FNM are caught in any type of scandal, actions are taken by the leader of the party and members are held accountable. Just ask John Bostwick!

The PLP on the other hand has NO ethics or moral compass! None of their members have EVER been held accountable for their actions. EVER!!! So carry ya stupid, shit-talkin ass Birdie. Roun here tellin half a story.
