I really dont understand Bahamian people.
The Bahamas' form of government is not a dictatorship. Perry Christie and the PLP did not take the country over by force. Despite having a history of incompetence and failures, the PLP was voted into office by the Bahamian public thru the proper democratic process.
What did the Bahamian public expect would happen when they voted for proven failure like Bernard Nottage, Shane Gibson, Perry Christie, and Phillip Davis???
The PLP government is doing exactly what every person with sense knew they would do..... "fail."
Being upset with the Perry Christie led government is like keeping a stray dog in your house, then being upset when it deficates on your carpet. What else would you expect from stray animal? The PLP is doing what they have always done.
Bahamians placed Perry Christie and his PLP in the seat of power. They need to go and march agaignst themselves.

The fnm has always been an infrastructural government. But their problem is that they always seem to neglect the immediate concerns of the people. Yes, our country needed new roads. But HAI needed to understand that people can't eat roads.

Cobalt says...

birdie, only foolishness comes out of your post. Every Bahamian who pays attention to our country knows that these projects were established and most of them completed under the fnm government. They even used these projects as election prompts during the last general election to boast about these accomplishments, plus more.
Hubert Ingraham initiated and completed the national stadium with the use of the Chinese government (much to the dislike of many Bahamians). And he also initiated the new airport (which also sparked controversy when Brent Symonette awarded himself a contract with the construction thereof). Before the airport was completely finished, the fnm was voted out of office and the PLP came into office and named the airport after pindling. Some people were actually unhappy because they felt that this was a disfavor to Sir Lynden Pindling because the airport wasn't fully completed yet. As a matter of fact, the airport still isn't fully completed. Stop talking foolish, man.

Bahamian men cant keep dey doggy in dey pants. Bahamian girls cant keep dey leg close.

Ok..... so thats one lost constituency for the FNM.
Hubert Minnis will learn the hard way that whenever you go against the wishes of the people, you lose the election.

2 . Perry Christie?

Cobalt says...

Yup

Cobalt says...

Trust me Honestman....... Bahmians would have voted for Perry Christie if Branville and the DNA were not an option. They were vex with HAI for the sale of BTC and the inconvenience of the road works. They wanted to teach HAI and Tommy T a lesson by voting them out of office. Don't let deez Bahamian people fool you, hear?

Cobalt says...

No no no, Economist.
You make some interesting observations, however, the PLP and the FNM are not the same thing. The FNM is a slightly better government than the PLP.
Dont get me wrong..... the FNM has failed in many areas aswell, but at least when they are in power we see an improvement in the country's infrastructure. ie new roads, new airport, new sports stadium, dredging of the harbor to accommodate mega-size cruise ships, Atlantis, the second PI Bridge, proper pluming in some of the family islands, etc etc.
But the PLP under Perry Christie cant hang their hats on nothing that theyve done.

Cobalt says...

Lol. I dont know what Bahamians are complaining about.
They got the government that they voted for! These very same people who are marching and complaining are the very same people who had their PLP flags flying high in the wind! They are also the very same people who voted for Perry and his corrupt, hapless, incompetent government.
The PLP under Perry Christie has always had the reputation of being a failed government..... yet the Bahamian electorate voted for him anyways. I have no sympathy for Bahamian people. Yinna gettin jus what ya ask for.
