It's alway difficult when parents have to bury their children. Especially when their lives are lost to senseless violence.
But someone needs to remind these young men and women that although they may have decided to change their lives, that does not negate their past. And universal law dictates that the past always comes back full circle. While he may have been considering a life of change, that doesn't mean that his enemies have.

Exactly! Now these numbers bosses are initiating a request that would allow them to organize and construct their own bank!
This government is soooo flippin stupid. Even the slightest consideration to this idea is going to have dire consequences for the Bahamas! Perry Cristie and his PLP government are too impotent, and ignorant to see the dangerous game they are playing!
The only reason Mr Bastian has an interest in the Bahamas Banking Industry is because the current laws that are in place pose an obstacle to his numbers-house enterprise.
As it stands, banks are not willing to accept proceeds from any numbers-house because of the potential it has for money laundering, embezzlement, loan-sharking, and other illegal activities. Global banking giants such as the IMF and other international power-houses have made their position known that there is not enough infrastructural laws and personnel in place to manage and monitor the new banking practices proposed. Furthermore, the Bahamas has a global reputation for being a corrupt country. The IMF and the United States have already threaten sanctions against the Bahamas if we, and other foreign banks operating within the Bahamas, are not compliant with global banking standards. Unfortunately, we are a small country and cannot contend with these super-powers in the state that we're in.
This is one of the main reasons why it was so important for us to build our country from the ground up! So that we could possess the ability to stand on our own two feet with limited foreign influence. But unfortunately, due to our incompetent, dishonest, hapless, Bahamian way of doing things, this will never be the case!
Mr Bastian and Fred Mitchell are all too funny! What are they talking about??? The Bahamas has its own bank.... but unfortunately it became the subject of scandal, mismanagement, misappropriated funds, and theft (ie BOB). This is the classic mode of operation in any Bahamian own cooperation or enterprise!
Everything that Bahamians put their hands to becomes the subject of corruption, incompetence, and fraudulent practices! As a result, we have to initiate the help of foreigners to manage and operate critical industries. However, the residual affect of this practice is that foreigners now have the upper-hand and are free to exercise **their** agenda rather than what's best for our country. If you don't believe me, just look at Scotia Bank's recent exercise! Sadly for us, the Bahamas needs foreigners more than foreigners need the Bahamas. If we were an honest, frugal, prudent people with insight, foresight and know-how..... we could have been the jewel of the Caribbean. Unfortunately, we're not! Rather, we are a dishonest, money grubbing, thieving, lying, amoral, bungling, corrupt minded, visionless people lacking critical thinking and creative ability.
Long story short..... our own corrupt practices and ineptidudes have come back to haunt us. The Bahamas is reaping exactly what it has sown!
I seem to recall Bahamians "catching hell" under the FNM as well! As a matter of fact.... the entire reason that Bahamians took a gamble with this worthless PLP government, is because of the perpetual suffering they experienced under the FNM.
This is one of the reasons why dental records are so important. If this practice were in place in the Bahamas, it would undoubtedly assist police in determining the identification of this individual.
I agree. But it would cost millions of dollars to hire foreign ATC. And in fairness to the ATC's union..... how are they suppose to accept the government's excuse that the country is broke, when the PLP is wasting millions of dollars on a silly carnival festival??? How are they suppose to feel when thousands of dollars appropriated to them have still not been issued, while the government is paying a soca performer from another country $100,000??? How are they suppose to feel when PLP MPs are still trying to give themselves raises, while hundreds of Bahamians continue to be laid-off and under paid???

Don't sell yourself short. Your grammar skills are of exponential quality when compared to that of government personnel.
Your post contained one simple typographical error. The PLP, on the other hand, are habitual practicing idiots.
