1. Westminster system of government, with only two real political parties (no offense, DNA) so whatever the majority party wants goes. Real simple. If you don't like it we have to change our governmental system.
2. The Bahamas will look back and thank God that the Prime Minister during the Covid-19 pandemic was also a physician and that he took the threat seriously. If there are minimal cases and few/no deaths, it will be because of the curfews. Just look what is happening in Italy and the United States to see what happens when the situation is not taken seriously.
3. Because early action is critical, it is pointless and counter-productive to convene a task force to mull over the situation, have drafts of their recommendations leaked, etc. If there is a fire in the building, there is no need to convene a task force to determine whether or not to break the glass and pull the fire alarm...
There are other cases in Grand Bahama (confirmed or not); probably on other family islands as well. The curfew is now but the effects wont be seen for at least two weeks. Expect more cases as we enter April and then (hopefully, if people abide by the curfew) the rise in cases levels off by the middle of April.
As she has no relevant travel history, she is the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in the country, but not the first person to have COVID-19 in the country.
Agreed, especially the call for transformative leadership.
And at a minimum, we need more/better retirement homes for the elderly and facilities for children with developmental disorders. They would each get better care outside of the hospital and it would open up beds within the hospital for the sick.
How does the Bahamian government, for decades, lean on churches to provide shelter from the proverbial storms (how many shelters has the government actually built?!?!!) and now want to chastise churches for doing what churches do -- help those in need???
Lord help this country if come next hurricane season the churches decide they can't/won't serve as shelters!!
There is an airport strip in West End and an airport strip in East Grand Bahama. Either can be used instead. If Whampoa wont fix the GBIA, let them keep the GBIA.
Should this not fall under the Ministry of Environment and Housing and/or the Ministry of Works? The National Emergency Management Agency has enough on its plate.

Why is the Bahamas' Public Hospitals Authority using the Royal Bank of Canada as their main institution for routing??
I long for the day when the PHA would feel confident and proud in using the Bank of the Bahamas as their banking institution of choice.

1) Would like to see where you got your cost estimates for East or West GB from.
2) GBIA was worth somewhere between $3-$18 million prior to Dorian (at best) so $40M rebuild not worth it... http://www.tribune242.com/news/2016/feb…
