The whole thing is a scam. The Hyatt is supposed to open in April? Go to their web site. You can not make a reservation at the hotel. They are not taking any reservations at all. I tried to make one at Christmas and I couldn't. That shows how much confidence Hyatt has in this process.
***“They are trying to get from A straight to Z without going through the other 26 letters of the alphabet,”***
Hold on . . . without going through the other 26 letters? As far as I know there are only 24 letters between A & Z? So 24 plus "A" plus "Z" makes 26.
This is yet another reason why Mr Woods and the rest of the Union Management should be terminated. They do not even know how many letters are in the Alphabet! ! ! !
It's time to get rid of Woods and the rest of the under-achievers at the Hotel Union. Whenever something happens their first comment is always that they didn't know anything about it.
What do they know? you ask? They know nothing and they have never contribute anything.
The Union Members should stop paying the union dues and just get rid of this useless organization.
Why do newspapers allow Ms Martin to comment on anything? She is completely unqualified to speak on ANY subject. Her and the rest of the Hotel Union Management are totally incompetent and if they were replaced by pre-school kids, that would be an improvement.
More ridiculous comments from Dionisio D’Aguilar. For him to say "reliance on post-paid meters was “onerous” for poor Bahamians" is just plain stupid and shows that this "outspoken businessman" truly has no understanding of anything.
The fact is that **paying for electricity** is onerous for poor Bahamians. Paying for electricity is onerous for **ALL** Bahamians. Whether you "pre-pay" and can not afford to deposit more money - or you post pay and can't pay the bill - it comes down to the same thing, your electric is / will be cut off. **People can not afford electricity** due to years and years of bad management at BEC. If you are poor you are better off with post pay because you will have electricity longer. Yes, you may owe the electric company money, but who really cares, you will be one of the 90%+ of Bahamians who, according to The Tribune, are past due on their accounts.
Why not talk about the real problem here. Which is supplying continuous power (ie: this means no outages on a daily basis) to the masses at a reasonable price.
**note to tribune: Enough is enough. Time to find a new "outspoken businessman".**
I think that the numbers here are a bit suspect! ! 85% flows back out of the country? Take a hotel, for example - If 30-40% of revenues go to pay payroll, how can 85% go out of the country? Not to mention other expenses
This is outrageous. Fine disagree with Sarkis but to say that you will kick him out of the country is not right. The government is already looking at seizing the hotels. Wouldn't you be a bit pissed off if someone came and was about to take +/- $750M from you?
