Dogmatic beliefs based on books and ancient texts written by MEN purported to have been inspired by god thousands of years ago. No thank you!

All this talk about the fire at the power plant being an opportunity, a clean slate, or use renewable energy, etc. is all very amusing. I find it amazing that when disasters like that happens at BPL, and they happen frequently, the first thing is said is why are they not installing solar or renewable energy is the solution. No, solar is not the solution to the problem. Even if 100% solar is installed, the fundamental problem will still exist, and that is BPL itself. There are fundamental flaws in BPL that must first be addressed, like for example, being able to maintain a power plant, without having catastrophic failures like this one. If they can't even maintain and properly run a power plant that uses 100 year old technology without it burning to the ground, I have zero confidence in their ability operate renewable energy plants of the magnitude required to power Andros, not to mention the rest of the Bahamas. Let's start fixing the fundamental problems first. Successive governments have been skirting around this issue for decades. It high time that we address it now.

As the owner of a low margin business, I say it about darn time they change the business license tax regime. The current system is extremely unfair to low margin businesses, who effectively pay a very high percentage of their net income in taxes, while the high margin businesses, get away with paying much less. The Business license tax system is a very regressive tax system that has been detrimental to businesses for decades and should have been changed many years ago.

Munroe's reasoning makes no sense, despite his wordsmiting and sophistry. What is the purpose of the age of consent otherwise?

What in the world? What are these Pasters preaching? I am shocked by some of the comments here. I blame the church. Pasters are obviously spewing this nonsense and calling it the word of God and far too many men are soaking it up like a sponge. This is Blasphemy.

It amazing how a passage in a book written almost 2000 years ago is being used to justify rape. It disgusting. But since the Bible is being invoke, the passage being invoked goes on to say husbands love your wives as Christ loves the Church. If a husband loves a wife in this way he won't force her to "submit". Cherry picking passages from sacred text as an excuse to dominant women is sacrelidge.

The police, social services and the church are not protecting our most vulnerable, women and children, failing them miserably. So sad, such a disgrace.

Victim blame is a sad excuse.

Intimidation and fear make people say and do irrational things. She was probably terrified of provoking him, she obviously knew what he was capable of. The police should know this. What was she to do without protection after she made the formal complaint? All that would have done was given him more of a reason to harm her after he was released. To avoid this, she probably thought it best not to make her situation worse by making the formal complaint.
